Everyone has the right to have some sort of fetish, but when you go ahead and think "yeah, uploading a video containing my fetishes to one of the biggest media websites on the internet is a good idea" you have no one else but yourself to blame when people use that as ammo to taint your image.
You may think it's not a big deal but that hugbox mindset is what makes those kind of people think doing such things is acceptable in a social environment.

Sure, but how is this pushing fetishes?
I went ahead and rewatched it. Both of the fat things, for their limited screentime (which probably adds up to 20~ seconds), seemed to be played straight as jokes. Edit: For the record, if I wanted to convince someone that what I thought was sexy, was indeed sexy, I wouldn't play it off as big laughing joke. I mean, would a furry trying to broaden the extent of their "fetish" make an SFM about how terrible fursuits smell, how obnoxious they are, and how terrible furries are as people? That's a strange strat for "getting your fetish out there."
In the same way, no one has accused any Five Nights at Freddy's SFM for pushing a furry fetish, or any anime-based SFM for pushing a loli or some other strange moonrune fetish.
If that's the best justification you have then I'm kind of amazed that's what it takes to trigger such vitriol, and I hope for your sake you don't wander in to the great-wild internet, or else your own uh, let's call it anti-hugbox, might be assaulted.
I don't think you understand what I'm saying, I'm not speaking on the behalf of absolutely everyone who find these kind of things unacceptable. I don't advocate at all how certain people go completely out of their way to harass and torment people whom they have a disdain for, but you can't say that doing these kind of things is okay even as self-deprecating jokes while a lot of people damn well know what they actually represent for the author.

In case you didn't know there are quite a few self-aware people who are hypocritical about their fetishes and just throw them out there as jokes while going "hahah this is so dumb, can you imagine someone being into this?", which happened a few times on the DAAS thread.

I also don't get why you're so defensive over it, nowhere in this thread have I insulted the author over this video, I'm simply justifying why that video would cause people to mock that person. Plus, there is no such thing as an "anti-hugbox", the sole reason this word exists AFAIK is to be a term defining easily-offended people who white knight other people being socially awkward, something which happens too much on DA/FA.

To be fair, if he genuinely did make this as self-depreciating satire, he kinda made it hard to pick up on with his self-insert Mary Sue looking cool and suave as well as the attempts at ~serious anime drama~ being portrayed in the credits.
All will be forgiven if he makes Blu Spy Episode 5 though. :wink:

It seems to me that this guy has a passion for doing what he loves. I pretty much misunderstood the dislike this video garnered at first but apparently he continually condescended in the GMod / SFM section to get the assets made for this entire series, and now I think I'm understanding it partially.
There's still a fraction of something I don't understand, which is why this is getting so much attention. He hasn't sent this to anyone on FP, has he?

IIRC he has a certain degree of infamy and several people on FP know him for his past, so naturally some news about him will spread over here.

There are some good things but they are drowned out by the 'lel epic reference' and generally cringey-ness of the actual content.
Secrios reminds me of John Boorman, producer and director of Deliverance. The writer of the screenplay was primarily James Dickey, the author of the original novel with the same name. Boorman had very little to do with the screenplay. The result was a pretty good movie.
However, when Boorman took the opportunity to write his own movie...

I agree with what CAS303 said. People can have their opinions and/or offer constructive criticism on Secrios's vids all they like but as soon as they say something along the lines of "He doesn't deserve to have that talent!" or "It's a damn shame he chooses to waste that talent on this sort of shit " that's when I draw that line. Just because he makes stuff that we find cringey as hell doesn't mean we should say he doesn't deserve the talent he has in my opinion. The same goes with talented artists who decide to draw furry porn and/or weird fetish stuff. Again let me be clear, I don't like his stuff either and I find it cringey as hell I'm just saying I don't like when people say the previously mentioned.
