I like this forum because of the many bans, keeps the real idiots and shitheads out.
If it only were like back in the good old days, when we had smartness and people actually had to spell.
We need more random bans. It used to be funny when you see 5+ bans on one page, all for incredibly stupid, yet funny, reasons.

The mods arent really all that bad guys, they only try to keep the fourm clean and unshitty. My first ban was posting in a ban me. I had no idea what they were beacuse I was so new. But I waited it out. If you really talk to them for a while they dont turn out as super nazis. They turn out like normal users, just with the responsibility of keeping the fourm clean.
I kinda miss smartness. It was hilarious seeing people getting banned on their first posts.
I don't see the problem, they aren't permanent. Although why reply posts should be banned and deleted.

This is probably one of my favorite things about FP. I spent a lot of time at other boards before (coughgamefaqscough), and the mods there were treated as demigods that barely posted, someone above normal users and there was a lot of opaqueness to the moderation system. Here, they're just normal posters, and you can see exactly why you got banned, why someone else got banned, argue the ban, etc etc.

GF/GS are more heavily moderated, but they're moderated by a bunch of fucking morons, so it doesn't work out too well.

I think the reason that we have so good mod's here is because Garry has kept a personal eye, to who would be good as moderators. Mainly people that cares about the community.
verynicelady is my least favorite mod, too strict.
daijitsu is my favorite mod, does his job but isn't too strict. And he uses a desktop I made.
GAY_WEED_DAD_69 is my second favorite mod next to daijitsu, because he's slightly stricter.
Hezzy and garry are p. cool dudes.
I don't really see much of Gunfox so I can't speak for him.
And that's all the mods I know by heart.

Yea, that was the main problem CJayC (then latter SBAllen) had absolutely no hand in the community, they were too busy running the site. They kind of let the mods have free reign, and didn't care much about them.
EDIT: Whereas here, like you said, garry actually cares, which helps a tremendous amount.
