That's a wrong mindset. Always try to get the best quality out of your pictures.
Sure but when you've got a 400D the ISO performance above 400 (or even 200) is less than ideal.

taking a noisy picture that's great in every other respect is better than not taking one at all because you know it's gonna be noisy
plus, in DPP you can just apply a shitload of chroma noise reduction and a little bit of luma noise reduction, which still leaves a lot of details and looks less like typical shitty digital noise

i mean, i fairly often set my 450D to ISO1600 if the situation calls for it, and can still get pretty decent images if i just worry about the noise afterwards
yeah, I should add "where possible" to that.
Updated 14 may? :v: You're a whole month ahead of other photogs!

Jaanus, I love this photo. I love the way his eyes are shadowed by the darkness, removing his humanity- emphasising that the police are a force, a collective, one (Like the Borg!). Removing one of them will, of course, cause distress to his or her friends and family, but will ultimately prove futile.
Reminds me of the self-proclaimed 'John Wayne' of Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment:
