Are there any examples of a woman winning in a situation like this?
I mean marines are supposed to be badass compared to the average soldier anyway, right? Are there any examples of a woman beating an equally trained male opponent in a fist fight at all?
My sister and I took TaeKwonDo lessons starting at the same time, and she turned out to be a really good fighter. So much so, that when it came to sparring, we needed 3 people to fight her at once, me included. She started sparring black belts long before she even became a junior black belt. Your sexist question is stupidly out of place.
If they were both civilians then sure, but these two are soldiers
Why is it any different? Refusing to get rid of male chivalry and giving women special treatment is the problem with feminism. These things are still sexist and in a way keep women down.

Fighting ability cannot be broken down into gender and build. It takes a certain mindset as well. You need aggression, good reaction time, and, most importantly, a willingness to practice. Everything involved in fighting rests on practice.

It's not specifically aggression you need, but controlled aggression, you lose as soon as you don't have a clear mind.

What does this have to do with anything? Your sister is an outlier, unless you wish to claim that most women who take up tae-kwon-do will do better than most people, which is obviously not true and is impossible. My point is that your sister's case is an exception, not the rule.

Not really, not many (if anyone) implied they enjoyed watching her fail. It was just way too unbalanced of a fight, and no one comprehends why either contender would engage in such a trivial battle. The only way she could have conquered this man is by skill (which she did not have), in order to combat his muscle. Mind you, if she had managed to do so, she would be looked upon in a whole new light.

I am 99.9% sure that is not at all part of any feminist doctrine, anywhere. Feel free to correct me with actual evidence to support your wild claims.
"Chivalric" attitudes are a combined cultural stigma, not a doctrine.

How the fuck is that question sexist? I have literally never seen a woman beat an equally trained man in a fight. Apparently you have, which is cool. If you have some sort of video documentation I could watch so that in the future I can say that I have seen a woman beat an equally trained man in a fight, that would be nice.
Um, if she's a regular soldier, why's she fighting a marine. If that's the same as for Russian regular soldier to fight a airmobile trooper (VDV), it's bloody unfair.

There are different types of soldiers, just like there are different types of marines. You can guarantee that not every guy in the army is your standard fighter
but yeah its a girl who's probably a pogue fighting a marine so there's that

'equally trained' is such a stupid thing to say. what do you mean equally trained? how do you know they're equally trained? as people have been pointing out here, this is a marine vs regular army. the whole 'well if you got 1 man and 1 woman and they were equally trained the man would win cause men are stronger' is such a stupid statement. what if it was a weaker male? what if it was a stronger female? what if the man just had terrible hand eye coordination no matter how much he trained?

Oh jeez guys, we better call the professional fighting circuit. Apparently there's no way to match people up by skill, or even measure if they're competent before fighting. And for fuck's sake, I specifically mentioned that from what I knew marines were just generally more competent fighters than regular army members. I wasn't commenting on the video specifically.
And what the fuck is the rest of this tripe? I never said anything about who should win, or who's stronger than who, or whatever other biotruths nonsense you decided to read into what I wrote. All I'm saying, literally the only thing that I am implying or communicating, is that I have not seen a fight between two peers of opposing gender in which the woman won. I just think that would be an interesting fight to see considering that there's recently been a meager amount of attention paid to the physical capabilities of men and women. But apparently I have to specifically write in what I'm not implying if I want to not be purporting men as the greater sex.
i was just pointing out that the 'equally trained' thing is silly to say because i mean, most fighters you'd say are equally trained, but what makes the anderson silvas or the ronda rouseys different? i'm not trying to bite your head of or anything and i guess alot of what i was saying didn't need to seem as if it was aimed at you
[editline]28th December 2013[/editline]

I generally go about it as, if I like someone I'll do things for them. Male or female. If this woman is a dumb cunt, I'm not about to help her in any way. If there's a person near or rushing to go indoors, I'll hold the door; a man or woman who is having issues with their heavy luggage or groceries, if I'm not in a hurry or busy, I go over and help; etc.
Though, this could just be because I am Canadian...
I remember some people in the US would act so enthused when I'd hold a door or do some other minor task for them.

probably because there's tons of factors during training, like personal motivation, time spent, condition before training etc) that play into the process so there's no real way to say 'equally trained'
'equally skilled', maybe, as performance is directly measurable - but obviously if a side loses every time then clearly they must not be equally skilled
But I guess people will just dismiss this as ~biotruths~ even if male and female bodies are clearly different.
"biotruths" ARE something to be dismissed because they are blanket statements that can not apply in the real world. there are far more differences AMONG the sexes rather than BETWEEN them. any variance between male and female bodies is far outweighed by the variances between men and other men, or women and other women.

yeah this, like, if you 'equally trained' me to the point of ronda rousey i'm fairly sure she would still whup my ass and the same would go for virtually anyone
