I will NEVER do heroin thanks to Requiem for a Dream
Easily the most powerful and depressing movie I have ever seen. If you are even considering heroin, or any other drug for that matter, watch Requiem first, I can almost guarantee it will change your mind, this film is that powerful. I would type more, but instead I am going to go hug my arms and be happy with the life I have.
So wait, it takes a movie to convince you NOT to get into a drug dependency that will run you into poverty, carry serious noticeable symptoms and have a withdraw process which is notable for being among the most excruciating things any human being can ever experience?
My cousin died of a heroin overdose at age 21.
Yeah man try driving a car baked or crossing a street on a trip. Cool stuff bro!
Driving Baked isn't so bad, i just drive a lot slower for some reason. Doing anything on a trip is hard work, often fun, but very hard.
Heroin isn't bad for you anyway, neither are a lot of drugs. The only reason i'd try Heroin though is to see how addictive it is.. since smoking is supposed to be addictive, and so is cocaine, neither of which i find addictive really.

= First episode of six feet under.
You missed the other part!
What is an addiction? Isn't the mum addicted to her television shows at the start of the movie? Are drugs necessarily bad - remembering, of course, that by the end of the movie the only happy person is the one who's still jacked up on drugs?
Heroin has killed more than one of my personal heroes.
Just don't buy the shitty 10 dollar stuff and you'll be fine. Weed is really the only risk-free drug though.
Anyways, I'll have to watch this movie sometime. It seems good.
Nuh-uh. It can aggravate psychotic tendencies in those so inclined.
For a real risk free drug, try Salvia Divinorum in a padded room where you can't bash into things.
= First episode of six feet under.
why are you quoting the guy with the halo avatar

You can Overdose on heroin. No shit. You can overdose on water. Heroin isn't as bad for the body in the long, compared to a lot of things. It's just the shitty lifestyle of spending all your money on heroin, living in a shit flat, eating when you don't need smack.
And no i'm not high, i have to wait till someone picks up first, and it's always fucking late.

Every time you take an opiate you crave a little more or the effect is not strong enough, eventually you take so much every time that it will quickly KILL you.
How the fuck dumb do you have to be to start taking drugs.
I'm talking heroin, or coke, or some shit, not marijuana. I don't use any of it though.
Jesus.
ketamine is better it feels nicer in your vains and nose trust me
Pulp fiction?

Not really.. since the more you take the larger you tolerance to it is.. You have to take a shock ammount that is greatly larger than your regular dose, increasing it slowly over time doesn't do this. But yeah.. you'll never get a hit as good as the first one.
Not really.. (Stupid words etc...)
You're going against proven scientific studies that say its addictive. Don't.

Are you suggesting... That Heroin is a good thing?
Where you seriously considering heroin beforehand?
after I saw train spotting i took heroin and killed a baby :(
Trainspotting :eng101:
Are you suggesting... That Heroin is a good thing?
No. I'm just stating that Heroin itself doesn't do such bad things to the body in the long run. A lot of people who OD are speedballing anyway.. not such a great idea. Why do you think it was used as a cough medicine in the past, and why is such a close derivitive used as a pain killer. Sure it's fairly easy to OD on but it's not bad for your body besides withdrawl.
You're going against proven scientific studies that say its addictive. Don't.
You clearly didn't read what i wrote. I never said it wasn't addictive, i said it doesn't cause health problems in the long run (besides the risks with the process involved in taking it and being under the influence) Since you don't look for yourself.

The risks:
* Deaths from overdoses occur. But the risk increases after a period off the drug because the body's tolerance for the drug goes down.
* Overdoses can lead to coma and even death from respiratory failure (i.e. when breathing stops).
* If heroin is taken with other drugs, including alcohol, overdose is more likely. Other downers such as benzodiazepine tranquillisers are also associated with heroin overdose deaths.
* There's also a risk of death due to inhaling vomit as heroin stops the body's cough reflex working properly.
* Injecting heroin can do nasty damage to your veins and has been known to lead to gangrene (death and decay of body tissue, usually a digit or a limb) and tissue infections.
* The risks of sharing needles and other works to inject are well-known, putting you in danger of infections like hepatitis B or C and HIV/AIDS.

Maybe it's because I watched it so early in the morning yesterday, but I wasn't really as empathetic to the characters as I would have been in some other movies. I liked the premise and the plot though. I liked the mom's story the best.

The mom was the only one I had sympathy for, and the only one that made me freak out the most.
Next you'll watch Reefer Madness and tell us it has showed you the light on how bad marijuana is.
I can't see how a movie like this could change your opinion. It's fictional, they can make the drug look as bad as they want.
