Question:
in my years of smoking, i've only ever smoked it in joint form. I'm thinking of getting a bong or pipe or something (I'd want to be able to carry it around in a backpack, not sure if a bong would break)
anyway, where do I get these things? any headshop, or do I find someone who sells them/ Because i honestly have no idea

Any headshop should have what you need, or online shops. If you buy it from like an acquaintance or something, it'll probably be overpriced.

seriously, i have no paraphernalia at all. none. I buy weed, have some papers, smoke it on the night (all of it, i've only ever bought small amounts) then do whatever. It's about time i got myself a bong, pipe, tin, grinder and all that stuff. I'm going to figure out where to put these things in my room, though. Parents and small children visit quite a lot, I'm not sure where I'd put a bong without it being easily spotted
You can get a nice bowl for $20-$30
My friends and I just got a communal bowl (single-spun) glass for $9 (we'd rather spend money on the ghanja)

I wouldn't recommend getting a bong unless you have some place to smoke it. I've smoked bongs in public parks, but it's shifty as fuck, and you can't just stash it away like you can a bowl.

I refer to those as bowls to. I'm just used to calling these pipes "bowls" - I guess they are also referred to as "spoons"

if your trying to hide it get a metal magnetic one, there awesome for hiding. i broke mine tho, while very stoned i stuck a toy soliders sword in it and it got stuck. also you can ge plastic bongs that sort off..shit cant think of the word, push together and forms a round plastic disk, bong pulled decent too, think my mate got it off ebay was like a tenner.
i read up on glass ones, looks like metal ones don't have a carb and leave a bad taste in your mouth, i'm going to go for a glass one
but my ideal one would be a calabash pipe

We referred to it as the Purple Nurple.
It got us baked on many occasions.
Glass spoons are the best pipes there are IMO. Easy to take around, easy to smoke and easy to clean.

Hey I just bought a bowl. It was only $8 and I got like 3 filters. Great deal. But I also have an idea/question.
I put weed in my porcelain tube in my pipe hoping the smoke from the burning weed in the bowl would stick to the stored weed and make it more potent for later use.

Here is the weed inside the tube and the 2nd filter by the mouthpiece so weed doesn't go through.
