• Bethesda Responds to Creation Club

I find it difficult to take Pete Hines seriously after the Jet/Ghoul thing. I don't think he's a bad person. He can just be really arrogant for no good reason. He strikes me as, at least occasionally, being pretty out of touch with the audience that plays his games.
I've never had a problem with the creation club, I've just looked at it as additional mods with a slightly higher quality standard(as far as compatibility and bugs go), but those prices are atrocious. Considering that $14.99 gets you just 1500cc, and most of those are 300cc+, you'd get like three mods before you're out of credits...
Only things I can think of is the Hellfire and Chinese Stealth Suit. If there were not any equivalent mods you'd be complaining that Bethesda is selling content they made themselves. I'm not defending Creation Club, it is horrible. But Beth's Hellfire and Stealth suit are not bad, their Hellfire looks closer to the original version then the modded one does.
Except the Chinese Stealth Suit and Hellfire Armor was made by the same modder that made the nexus versions of those, and it's quite obvious he just worked with those as a base and changed a few things.
Except the Chinese Stealth Suit and Hellfire Armor was made by the same modder that made the nexus versions of those, and it's quite obvious he just worked with those as a base and changed a few things.
Source?
Xbox One and PS4 players.
Xbox One already has mods, and AFAIK aside from script extender stuff and requiring you to use Bethesda.net they are very similar to PC mods.
Except the Chinese Stealth Suit and Hellfire Armor was made by the same modder that made the nexus versions of those, and it's quite obvious he just worked with those as a base and changed a few things.
I'm pretty sure everything in this first wave of content was made by Bethesda themselves.
I'm pretty sure everything in this first wave of content was made by Bethesda themselves.
Not the shotgun, that was made by asXas. Don't know about the rest of them.
Not the shotgun, that was made by asXas. Don't know about the rest of them.
Shotgun was asXas, I don't know who made the backpack but there's no way in hell it was Bethesda since the way its crafting is set up deviates so much from vanilla in terms of naming convention and it includes references to the NCR and others that I doubt Bethesda would make on their own, and I've heard it said the modern furniture set was from a modder, but I have no idea who and rather doubt that it actually is. Rest is all Bethesda.

Ofc Hines, these people must be total Turbo-nerd nitpicking pedants to point out that your games writers sucked so much ass that they genuinely forgot people need to eat and drink at least once every 200 years when writing some of the quests.

The whole company seems to have a big problem with favoritism. People don't want to fire their friends even if they aren't the best for the job.
I don't see why they don't allow people to put mods up on creation club for free
I don't see why they don't allow people to put mods up on creation club for free
They already have Bethnet for that you dingus
The sad thing is, if they were big mods that had quests, weapons, armor all rolled into it for that price it'd totally get the point and be worth it for that cost. like hey, 15$, and you get 1 or 2 decent mini-DLC side-quest thingies that'll last you a good indie-games length, hey, that'd be cool man If the modders had a reasonable cut, it'd totally sound like a fair deal. it'd fund really powerful works of fuckin' art. but they basically contractually own all rights to the work and own all profits made from it, and the only DLC they have is stuff that's worse than something some dude with a killer hangover made in like 5 seconds while bored and taking a shit, messing around with his laptop, who hit upload and before he even managed to finish wiping his ass, the mod was released for free
Money is more important. Even though this is bad PR for Bethesda, they will turn to profit from this over time once the storm has calmed down I'm pretty sure. Game consumers eat up anything these days. Bethesda getting money from content that they haven't even made? It's genius when you think about it.
I keep expecting their constant stream of bad PR (dating back at least to horse armor) to catch up with them at some point. They haven't made a good game since Fallout 3, and even that was pretty unpolished and a bit dated at the time (coming out a year after crysis for example), and yet they're just making more money than ever for shallower, buggier, more outdated games re-released over and over. The video games industry is a mystery to me sometimes. Who knows though, maybe their stubborn push for paid mods in the face of massive backlash combined with disastrous technical issues pushed onto people who just want to play the base game even without mods will finally be enough to hurt their business
If they don't allow free mods on their next game i'm going to be genuinely hurt my dad deals with stress by binge playing fallout 4 and the modding is literally his entire gaming world. He hates CC. He doesn't play any other game other than Skyrim. I doubt that they'd do something that dumb, I still have faith that they're not that malicious, but that would be the biggest "Fuck you" to customers in gaming history.
They already have Bethnet for that you dingus
which can be used with consoles? then what's the point of creation club
which can be used with consoles? then what's the point of creation club
to milk money from the naive [editline]5th September 2017[/editline]
If they don't allow free mods on their next game i'm going to be genuinely hurt my dad deals with stress by binge playing fallout 4 and the modding is literally his entire gaming world. Unless Bethesda remove CC, there will be more CC in future games. Fallout 4 and Skyrim was just the beginning.
Unless Bethesda remove CC, there will be more CC in future games. Fallout 4 and Skyrim was just the beginning.
then i won't buy future games from them, because it's both a bad business practice and I don't want their shit killing my hard drives with bloat

Rockstar and Take-Two drum up bad PR through every game they release, one or both of them say or do something completely fucking stupid and anticonsumer, every time a bunch people say they'll never buy a rockstar game again, and not only do they buy it they preorder the fucknuts gibmoney edition based on a youtube teaser trailer. The reason marketing treats gamers like shit are all based on decades of psychology of knowing gamers will whine but do little else.
Some mods can provide a cheating advantage.
I still remember a simple Oblivion mod, I think it was made by a Facepuncher just for giggles. Ebony sword. It was named something like Sword of OMGWTFBBQPWNAGE. And it sent shit flying to orbit. That was such a long time ago, why do I remember it
Well, he isn't lying. Like nothing about that sentence is false :v: Though isn't there a mod to re-enable achivements?
Requires skse, so every CC update will break it again, and consoles can't have it. The achievement disable however is 100% create a problem sell the solution on their part

You still have to be consistent in the way your universe. Now he's playing the game with some nicer looking environments because of me.
Modding is power, after all. [editline]6th September 2017[/editline] Not surprised this statement comes from Hines instead of Howard.
Not the shotgun, that was made by asXas. Don't know about the rest of them.
It'd sure be great if they told us who made what in the CC store then.
It'd sure be great if they told us who made what in the CC store then.
might be avoiding damaging their reputations ironically
might be avoiding damaging their reputations ironically
I can easily see a big dumb witch hunt starting with droves of idiots flaming anyone who made content for the CC.
