We should make a trip to go to Brookfield Zoo over the summer.
I think a Facepunch Midwesterner meetup would be awesome. I'd probably be willing to go so long as it isn't over 4 hours away from Indianapolis. [editline]5th March 2013[/editline] Also, holy hell the rain turned into snow in a matter of 20 minutes here.

Could set up several events over time and waver out in different directions, but I don't know what we'd do out in indianaland
Chicago is only about 3 hours away from me. It'd be the ideal location since it's basically a "hub city" of the Midwest. Indiana has a few cool museums and zoos. Or we could like, go on an expedition into Gary and whoever doesn't get shot wins.
Let's play "see who lasts the longest in englewood" Whoever wins gets to live
We could do like a Navy Pier meetup too.
Man, I just love shoveling snow at 9 at night, only to have a snow plow undo all my work. :suicide:

Edit How the hell did i manage to misread that. Anyway, East St. Louis really is the shittiest city in the country. Don't go near it. Don't get gas there. If you do go through it, don't stop for anything (not stoplights, not stop signs etc) and watch out for missing man hole covers.
I SAY MEDIEVAL TIMES. But that's just because my friend brought it up the other day. That being said, I am one of two active members from Central Illinois that I know of. Pekin, Illinois for both of us, actually :v: Or in other words, 3 hours from Chicago. So I'd probably be inclined to check in at a hotel at the end of the night and drive back the next day.
Whirlyball sounds fun as hell and we also have a Medieval times style place here too Get drunk as piss, operate a bumper car, and play soccer/polo with it

The food is amazing, and our knight won. It's a really cool place. [sp]I spent about $50 at the merch. store for a giant-ass wooden greatsword and some other stuff[/sp] From what I remember about the food, as this was a few years ago, they serve you chicken (as in, an entire chicken smaller than normal chickens, but bigger than your hand), soup, bread, and I believe a dessert, not positive on the dessert though. I didn't even like soup that much until I went there. They have people walking up and down the aisles giving everyone this food, and now I know why that place is so expensive. It's a huge ass room and EVERYONE got great food. Add on how much it must cost them to train horses, pay the actors, etc. When you enter, they tell you where you'll sit and that determines which knight you'll get. I was chosen to cheer for the White with Black Knight. The battle scenes were really cool, as were the various effects (smoke, etc) but I don't remember shit about the story of the whole thing.

I remember from when I went there was a bit of debris.
Isn't it like, $50 to get in?
How did you not get pelted with dirt being in the front row? I remember from when I went there was a bit of debris.
We were front row, but more of a corner section so it was close to the fights, but not that close.
If you're hardcore, you guys could come to Rockford and go to the Burpee museum!
If you're hardcore, you guys could come to Rockford and go to the Burpee museum!
Seems legit. Only time I've been to Rockford was for a Rock Crawling competition. That was fun.
bringing the thread back to comment on the weather being nice (I wore a t-shirt!) with yet another optimistic otulook on whether winter v5 will strike within a week or not also I drove two hours through construction traffic to get to magic waters out in rockford and left within an hour. not sure why but the place really put me in a sour mood what's everyone's stances on a meet-up thinger, when would you want to
Sorry for the late reply, but I would totally be up for a meet up sometime in August or something. We could all go to one of those free concerts at Millennium Park
I must say that today was quite nice after it stormed in my area for a bit yesterday. I helped wash my family's truck and moved a grill. And I watched some Breaking Bad to boot! Fun times to be had now that Spring is actually here. Also, since it's in August, I would not be too opposed to going to one of those free concerts. My only issue is if I will have money for it :v:
That weather was pretty intense last night. And this happened.
Wisconsin was fun too: [img_thumb]http://www.canterlot.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=518&d=1365634111[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.canterlot.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=521&d=1365634167[/img_thumb]
Who's excited for Gencon? Not sure I can go without it being awkward. Trying to avoid an ex who goes there. But, I'm excited for other people going.
