It's beautiful as well.
But yeah pretty boring.
Hi guys, I, an international applicant, recently applied to University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and University of Wisconsin Madison. I was just wondering how life was like in Urbana Champaign and Madison for university students. How is the party atmosphere? Are stuff cheap, etc, etc. I've never been to those particular areas, just rolled around NYC and California whenever I visited the US.
For extra information, I'm an Asian.

Where exactly are you from may I ask?
both of those schools are very fun and very lively places. UW Madison is moreso just because its a bigger city and much closer to places like Milwaukee and Chicago. Also Madison is just plain fucking crazy when it comes to parties. Especially Halloween

South Korea.
Although I'm Asian, my personality usually diverts away from the "Asian Bookworm" stereotype a lot of people have.
I've been living overseas in a lot of different countries from Dubai to the UK to Kenya so I've had to adapt to many different environments and have met a lot of extraordinary people. Since the UK, I've been greater socially. Currently I'm in Malaysia studying in an English curriculum however I've applied to the US rather than the UK.

We don't care much about Stereotypes around here so no worries about people doing that. Chicago's a pretty left leaner state if you know what I mean.
All in all I hope you enjoy your time here in the Midwest. You should defiantly come to Chicago. Really nice place to hang around in.

Tell us of the beauty that can be found in your area. Or, tell us about the sinkhole that ate your grandma.
I used to work at the Starved Rock Lodge, I'll get some pictures up later.

Decatur repping, all we have is the corporate/main office for ADM, CAT, and Staleys, plus this town smells like soybeans or corn 24/7.

I liked last week when it went from 65 degrees to 12 degrees to 60 degrees in like 3 days
Meh i kinda like it cold, call me weird, but i fucking hate hot weather, maybe i just like winter clothes.
I like both extremes, but whats getting to me is the lack of snow so far.
Yeah where's the coke?

I like it when I don't have to go outside and shovel snow.
Bloomington, Indiana represent!
Actually, I hate this fuckin place.
Bloomington isn't that bad compared to Gary. Besides, you guys have IU.
Fishers, IN reporting
Going to start going to Purdue next year. Pretty excited.
Any of you Indianafolk running the 5k/10k race in Shelbyville on Christmas eve?
I ran the Drumstick Dash on Thanksgiving, and I'm debating about going to this one.
So I was driving north on 45 from Milwaukee, I believe we were just into Wauwautosa or something. Maybe a quarter mile ahead, an unmarked cop car turns on his lights, then two cars ahead of me, a black SUV immediately turns right and smashes into the concrete barrier median. I slam on my breaks (I'm extremely lucky I got new tires last week and that it wasn't raining any harder). The black SUV drove down the shoulder of the road in the other direction. We continued on. Maybe another mile down, it looks liked there was an accident - a car on it's roof, an ambulance, and a couple cars. Most notably though, there was a cop car on the shoulder of the road with his lights off.
So the way I see it, the cops were looking for this ominous black SUV. He saw the cops were on to him and thought his best bet for getting away would be to go the other way on the freeway. Even though my friend and I almost died, it was still pretty badass.
(Note, I've been marathoning Breaking Bad so there's that too)
I've been Googling around, seeing if there's any news on it, but I haven't seen anything at all.
I Live in Oswego. Its by Montgomery and Naperville.

I don't know so much about wisconsin but the cops around this area have a tendency to flick on their lights at random to see if anyone freaks out and slams their breaks (which means they knew they were going to fast and admit breaking the speed limit), or even take off running. I consistently have a cop come out of nowhere and turn lights on behind me, only to zip past when I pull over, turning his lights off as he goes. It's confusing and a gut wrenching
also wisconsin and its WAU names
