It really is an ego thing, and it's the same thing as people like Amazing Atheist tearing down the easiest-to-tear-down arguments there are. This sort of thing is sort of an epidemic on the internet at this point. People find moderately intelligent people tearing down the arguments of complete idiots more entertaining than actual intelligent people debating other intelligent people.

Destiny's also known to throw fits of anger and act like a child. He'll often just repeat the same point over and over again and start to visibly shake and spin around in his chair if the opposing side doesn't agree with him (which tends to happen a lot considering he mostly speaks to contrarian dipshits). At some point his anger issues were so bad he spontaneously told his son to kill himself live on twitch because it practically became his go-to response. Something you'd assume would not happen with a guy who expressed his regret at not saving his friend from suicide.
