It's just a C, and then a B being bent up 3 semitones. But since it's a long and chromatic bend it hits alot of false notes, which I intended in order to get the feeling of anxiety sort of.
Thanks for listening!!
I'd try bending up to a chord tone so that it resolves some of the tension. But that may just be my preference so feel free to ignore my advice especially since you had an actual purpose for it.

No the video has nothing to do with the song.
Fit pretty well to me.
I feel like a terrible person for making this.
After playing ten or twenty techdeath songs nonstop in Frets on Fire, I decided I had to try my own hand at it. The result was so believable that it scares me.
In true techdeath fashion, I have dubbed it "Putrification of the Disembowled and Sodomized Cattle Corpses."
(It's a parody, if you couldn't tell.)
If you're curious, it's mostly a parody of Necrophagist, Decrepit Birth, Origin, Guttural Secrete, and Braindrill. The acoustic part comes from Anata. The breakdown is more a play on technical deathcore, but I threw it in anyways. :v:
And if you're wondering, I played songs from all the listed bands, plus a few others, in my techdeath spree. :bang:
If my Rockband microphone would work with my PC (it did three days ago...), I would have recorded vocals, too. I have a voice-changer program that has a "Da Growler" setting, which is basically a bunch of warble and bass, and the pitch kicked down real low. I would have just gurgled random shit about mutilation and crap into it - perfect techdeath vocals and lyrics.

cool song bro, would buy album twice
Here's a really short thing. It's not even a minute long. Might be nice as a loop. Also the drums are pretty shitty.

It's pretty much that short because I can't really think of anything to put after the end of it. Any suggestions?

Do you have a guitar pro file for the vanishing song?
Wow. Even when I try to make a traditional song (only one or two riffs for verses, about as many for bridges, chorus riff same as intro riff, etc, etc), my songs end up stupidly long.
I just finished composing another song, and when I went to export it as MIDI, I was expecting it to be around five minutes. Lo and behold, though, it's 8:21. :frog:
As always for me, I wrote the lyrics, then the composition. Going to post the lyrics a bit differently this time, though. Going to have the vocal style mentioned whenever it changes, as well as where in the song that particular verse starts. For this song, it's all one vocal style (minus the spoken word), but whatever.
As for the song itself, it's supposed to be a melodic death metal song with Gothic (lyrical) themes. All in all, I am pretty pleased with it (apart from it's length. :frog:). The intro solos I could be happier with, but they're far from the worst I've ever made. The melodic solo near the end I am especially proud of - it's the first melodic solo I've tried and actually succeeded with, and I like how it came out.
Sorry for it being an MP3, but the MIDI instrument set that Dropbox assigns MIDIs made the high-end of the song sound really shitty (literally, it sounded like diarrhea), and zshare locked up Mozilla solid when I tried to upload the MIDI to it.
Forgive me for massive post. I wish Facepunch had a spoiler system like the Frets on Fire forums, where everything inside the spoiler tags were reduced to a button that, when clicked, would show everything else. That way I don't take up all this space. It makes feel like a fatty. :saddowns:

For what creature could be so inhumane and despicable
As one that submits itself to physical addictions so completely
That the lives of the ones it loves most
Of the ones of even its own biological creation
Are used merely as exchange in the acts of fatalist desperations
To fuel an ever-raging addiction to a chemical substance
That is required in such dosages that its blood is writhing
Burning like hot red flame
??:??
And while the pain in its veins, and the shame in its heart
Is driving it toward an assuredly destructive end
The body is so battered and destroyed by the abuse its host
Has forced upon it
That it can merely sit there and drool like a lifeless lower life form
Whilst everything that it has ever loved
And anything that has ever loved it
Slowly fade away into an era of rot and decay?

First song I ever fully wrote. I guess it is okay, it is supposed to be a Thrash Song.
Any tips would be nice :D
Also, there is a part before the end where there is supposed to be a bunch of solos switching between players, but I haven't written them.

I liked this one, too. Not really "thrashy", in my opinion. I think it needs to be a bit faster. What'd you set the BPM at?
Any tips would be nice :D
Gotta work on those transitions, make them sound smooth and like they are suppose to happen. I'll give a few examples of this is usually done.
1. Hit the 5th chord, this is so common it is insane. Just think Master of Puppets right before the chorus, they just play a straight on B powerchord (which is the 5th of E) and it transitions wonderfully into the chorus. If you look at the most common chord progressions you'll see that they usually end with the 5th chord.
2. Try to transition by slowly morphing the riff into the next one. It is easy to do this with riffs because they are pretty short and can be modified and still sound good. If you look at classical pieces, they'd have very different melodies in the same song and the most common way for them to get to them way to do it slowly, which is why a lot of times classical pieces will seem to play the same thing over and over, they are really just trying to get from one melody to the next by slowly transitioning. Riffs are always short and classical melodies are usually long, so of course that is why the transition phase is a lot longer for classical pieces.
3. Create tension. This is really the best way and there are so many ways to create tension. Repetition is one. Playing the 5th chord is another because it makes your ear want to resolve to the root. Playing notes that are out of key or trying misguide the ear are other ways of creating tension. Really, there are too many ways to list, but what tension does is it makes you want to hear a resolution/something stable. So if you create a ton of tension and then resolve it to something stable it will sound good and fit in.
Transitions are really hard to do when you're first starting out. What I really recommend is listening to some of your favorite songs and analyze how they get from riff to riff and try to copy some of the methods they are using.
Another little tip is to try to not use the 4th for transitioning because it tends to have more of a repeating effect on riffs.
-TEXt-
Yeah, I know my transitions aren't that great, they were always the hardest to do. I think I understood everything you said though, and I will try and use it in practice :buddy:
Also, the BPM is 190.

I like that. Pretty good and has a lot of cool musical stuff going on. Only crit I have is that I feel the drums don't work in some places because it is accenting a note that shouldn't be accented.
Thanks for the comment. But what exactly do you mean?
The snare or crash is usually used to accent a certain beat, in rock it is usually the third beat. Accenting a beat brings attention to it. For example, in most rock and metal the accent is on the third beat, and on that beat a key note is typically played such as the 5th. In rap this is very important and the saying is to rhyme on the snare. Anyway, you have the typical rock type beat with the accent on the 3rd beat in a lot of parts, but I don't feel as though it is accenting anything which to makes it sound out of place. It's nothing really to worry about because it sounds fine and an lot of songs are like this..
Yeah ok. They were all intentional.

Not bad at all. Pretty progressive sounding.
No real story to this at all. Just practice transitioning from overdrive to acoustic, using a solo as a mask.
