Stop crying.. jeez.. :11tea:
Here is an idea I worked on today. Trying to expose myself to changing time signatures and also trying to use some ideas floating in my head. This is as far as I got on it today. Have a melody with it but I've got a wicked headache so I'm taking a break. http://filesmelt.com/dl/Pr1.mid
I tried writing some old-school church music.
Sorry for the size. http://filesmelt.com/dl/Test.wav And the terrible music. Here's the MIDI file, for whatever reason it decided to screw up quite a bit and sounds entirely different in my opinion. (perhaps because I am using Guitar Pro 6). http://filesmelt.com/dl/Test.mid
I didn't look at it but there isn't any need to upload a wav. Just upload the midi.
http://filesmelt.com/dl/new.mid Just getting all my ideas down. There's a lot that is going to go and probably a lot more to come into this. Probably isn't really too good right now.
All of these songs are awesome. You should all make a band called "Facepunch" and record CDs and play live! (I'm probably gonna get boxes for this)
Theres a big difference between writing and playing.
That's for sure. I've written some songs and then have had a terrible time trying to play them. This would be an example. [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] I had to drown out lot of the rhythm from my guitar with some midi instruments because I couldn't play the faster stuff on time.
Heh. Well I got bored and started making some bass grooves. After sharing with some friends, it was mutually agreed I should try and expound them out. Here's what I got so far. Very simple. Not meant to dazzle or amaze or anything. Obviously not done. Aiming for four minutes. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8416055/GrooveInstrumental.mp3 Also, I hate how even when I try to make simple things, they end up being quasi-progressive with timesig- and tempo-changes. :saddowns:
Hey guys. Never posted any of my music, so here goes. It's still a WIP tho. This is partially inspired by Agalloch and Nest, both outstanding bands.
I think I'm gonna try to make some MIDIgrind when I get home.
Hey guys. Never posted any of my music, so here goes. It's still a WIP tho. This is partially inspired by Agalloch and Nest, both outstanding bands.
I think that's a cool piece, except for that violin. It really sounds out of place imo. Oh wait, WIP, should've figured.. :3:
Thanks, the violin was kind of an experiment, but yeah, it does sound a bit awkward in places. Got about 30 more seconds down this morning, soon I'll update. :)
Just another tune by me. RPG Battle-style. Made this today in one sitting pretty much. Engage!
Crap, wrong thread.
The Fall Of Man A ten minute progressive song I wrote when I was bored. Sadly the mp3 conversion raped surround, so its all mono.
I haven't made anything in a long time, but I was looking through some old stuff. Kinda liked this song, it's unfinished though.
