Wow, it actually turned out to be in such a shape, but I did not expect the removable controllers. Am hyped.
It is great you can play games like Splatoon and Zelda on it but I am curious about the battery life.
I'm not really sold on the entire "take the game with you" idea. It certainly makes it easier to bring it to, say, friends and play with them. But I wouldn't want to play Zelda on a such a small screen. Oh, well.
Well the whole point of this is that you can use it on both TV and on the go so it is not like you are forced to play it on the small screen.

If the games can run in 60FPS. Then I am mostly sold.

Nvidia used their shield tech for this it seems

Of course they can. (and i assume you mean output, not actual render framerate because it makes no sense to assume there's a limit to that)
What other arbitrary limit did you expect? 60 has been the common limit for 15 years or more.

Good to see Platinum still on there.
I travel a lot because of my college not being in my hometown, so this console is everything i need/want
Now the main question is how long the battery life is on the portable part, and if there's a charger that you can take with you that's not the main console component at home.

That's a bit shortsighted. They're basically turning their console into handheld-hybrid and this will most certainly have side effects, i.e. in pricing, hardware power (FPS, resolution, etc.).
that controller is fucking excellent

I wasn't actually aware that Wii and X360 could run 60FPS (I just googled) and thought it was artifictally limited to 30FPS (Such that games could reach the budget easier). But I see that some games actually support 60FPS.
I guess I would just like to see most games run 60FPS.

Interested about that From Software on there

How? It's just an advanced version of the WiiU.
From Software?
Portable Dark Souls??
Armored Core??????????????????????
It looks like Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon had new content there, too.
I hope it's not Switch-exclusive, Wii U owners need a bone thrown their way.
Nvidia are quite genius with this tbh, assuming this is running on a tegra as it is shield Tech, on a screen that small the pixel density is gunna be huge even if only 1080/720, they can probably get away with some weaker hardware because it's still gunna look pretty good on a screen that small.

Apparently most WiiU games do run at 60 fps, but sadly in 720p. They need to be able to get their software running at 1080p@60fps. Admittedly 4k is still a long way off, but today owning a 50" TV is almost standard, so Nintendo need to deliver on that part.

There's some 1080p 60fps games on the WiiU if I remember correctly.
Also for awhile that WiiU had more 60fps 720p games then the PS4 and Xbox One.

im smelling a king's field port in the horizon

You'll have to give some source for that.
Seeing as how the Nvidia Shield is About $250 dollars, I guess this will be no more than $350
So uh...
How does it work?
Digital Foundry says the new Zelda runs at 720@30fps on the WiiU. According to this list most WiiU exclusives are 720p@60fps.

You turn it on and play videogames

Think the Wii U except now you can take the gamepad anywhere with you. Also it has removable side controllers
i noticed the trailer has no kids in it.
is nintendo getting the hint?

How could DF possible now what resolution and framerate a game on a console that's only just been announced runs?

With FROM, Take Two, Bethesda, EA and Ubisoft on board for at least one game I would say so.
