I can't wait to get this, bring it to the dentist and lose one of the fucking controllers.
modern yin yang symbol for the console nice
It has Skyrim on it What about mods
I want to say I hope it's skyrim special edition but for some reason I doubt it.
So the Nvidia press release confirms it's a new Tegra SoC, not an existing one. The specs someone posted here are almost literally the Tegra X1, which seems unlikely if it really is a new chip, unless they decided to have backwards compatibility and just slapped a 3DS processor onto the X1 SoC, but that would be pretty dumb of them. But just for ballpark performance numbers: Tegra X1 is about 150% as fast as the Wii U, and about 50% as fast as the Xbox One. Tegra X2 is supposed to be twice as fast as the Wii U and 75% as fast as the Xbox One. All of that is assuming it's running at full clocks, and measuring performance with a single number is very general anyways, but we're looking at a graphical upgrade from the Wii U either way, and possibly within range of other current home consoles.
I think the big thing in the middle is a battery pack, notice how there's battery indicators on both sides. Also it really looks like the ouya controller :v:
Woof woof.
That's not what Wii U's look like. They aren't like a big U, despite what the name says. Now I'm especially confused.
In the video it's the Switch. I was referring to how the Wii U used streaming and the controller worked as a second screen. But now with the Switch it's completely portable. No streaming, just power behind that thing. It's a mobile handheld console but also a stationary console at the same time.
Holy hell, this looks amazing. Please give it a good battery life, I beg of you Nintendo If Skyrim has mod support I might just buy it for the third time
Yes they went third party!
Fallout 4 had mod support for consoles, and Bethesda are adding the whole beth.net thingy whatever thing that Fallout 4 has to manage mods and mod content to the Skyrim rerelease, so it's not a complete pipe-dream.
Looks interesting, skeptical about performance. Also did they not learn from the Wii that nobody with normal sized hands wants to hold a controller like this. It is even smaller than the wiimote!

But yeah it's all opinion I guess, and the convenience is there for 2 player.
If the price is competitive compared to the xbox one/PS4, then I'm absolutely sold.

Also the Wii U lets you play games with the gamepad, the pro controller, Wii Remotes, Gamecube controllers and a fucking 3DS as a controller so I'm sure they'll give you options. That proper game controller you see during the Splatoon segment looks really good.
tbh theres no point in getting a ps4 or xbone over a pc. There aren't enough exclusives to justify it, especially when both consoles are looking to just port them over to PC anyways, and they don't offer the same support for control devices. That and PC has more exclusives either way if you want to go by raw numbers. This however actually has something to give you. THIS actually looks worth it. That and fuck, the PC is just more useful than a xbox/ps these days. Buy a NinSwi and a mid-tier gaming tower and your set for life.
This might be the first Nintendo system i own since the Gamecube.
Yeah this looks promising, last Nintendo product I owned was the DS back in 2008.
HYPED But I gotta say that controller configuration for the joycons is the ugliest thing I've ever seen

Some people also prefer couch gaming or whatever and that's fair game.
I like but.. I really want to try it first before i would even purchase it. Seeing how the old Nvidia Shield could manage good FPS on great looking games i am sure this Switch is 10x better then the Shield so in the graphics field i am already sold. Just wondering what the other features are
Holy shit is Splatoon 2 a launch title? All my dreams have come true
Holy shit is Splatoon 2 a launch title? All my dreams have come true
Probably just a Switch version of Splatoon.
This needs to have alot of cool games ( excluives and I could wii u on it ) bu t other wise sold
Oh neat, my friend appeared in the commercial at 2:41 seconds. He is in the red jacket with white stripes going down it.
Probably just a Switch version of Splatoon.
New animations, customization, and it's been a while since I last played but in pretty sure there are new weapons and a new map shown. I don't think it being a sequel is too far-fetched.
I like it that Nintendo is actually expanding on the reason to own a console (games on the couch, games on the go) rather than trying to make a gimped computer
I'll hold off judgement until I see actual user reviews after it's release, but I hope Nintendo will hit the nail on the head with this.
Now the main question is how long the battery life is on the portable part, and if there's a charger that you can take with you that's not the main console component at home.
rule 34 subsection 99: If a game accessory doesn't exist, a third party will make it
The best news about this is bringing the NX controller around and if a friend likes a game you're playing, they just PLAY. Pop off the side, boom. No one needs a second NX controller or anything. It's almost a mobile party console.
