Am I the only one here who hates post 60s American barges?
No you aren't. They all became unimaginative rectangles. Sure there were some unique features, but the overall shapes were incredibly similar.
Such a land barge, even the image is enormous!
Yes, I had to make it to scale to show how small your car is in comparison.
Here, I'll post a small image of a small car to balance it out

Unimaginative ugly rectangles and a lot of the features were BS that added nothing to the experience of riding in a luxury car. Not to mention how unreliable some of them were, like the 80s Caddys with cylinder deactivation.
No Party Hats, I don't think the Volvo Bricks count as barges

That's more like a land dinghy than a barge.
Nah man the best part about the 240 is that it's small on the outside, and the instant you get in it's like a 3 level yacht with casino and all
the fucking things a bedroom inside

Cubeman can tell you from his experience that my 240 could probably fit inside his challenger.
Looks like I've entered the harbor, look at all those barges!

We had a barge at the shop today(couldn't snap any pics but this is what it was):
[t]http://worldcarslist.com/images/buick/buick-roadmaster-sedan/buick-roadmaster-sedan-07.jpg[/t]
A 1995 Buick Roadmaster limited sedan, black exterior with a red interior and since it was the top trim, it had a Corvette LT1 motor sitting up front, everything was power, and I got a free crockpot from the trunk!
The thing was loud too...

Is it just me, or does the radiator grille on those things sorta look like a Ron Burgundy mustache?
Land barges eh? My 73 El Camino is a fucking 6000 pound behemoth that handles like an aircraft carrier. You don't drive this car-truck-thing, you navigate it.

Damn that is nice

Don't let the exterior fool you, it needs a lot of work. I'm restoring it over the summer, I am pulling the engine very soon and doing a mild rebuild. Good ol 350 small block, so easy to work on.

I see your 73 and raise you an 86 El Camino SS

It is quite a tight squeeze on the small backroads.

He sees your 86 and raises you the no smog control.
Also you sure your cars are near 6,000 pounds? My Dart's only about 3800 and I'd assume heavier (but smaller) than a camino.

He could have confused the weights on the certification tag (which are the maximum that the chassis is rated to handle) as curb weight(the actual weight of the car sitting at a curb unloaded)
No, El caminos are pretty heavy. Body on frame, very very long, v8, etc, etc.
It's probably around 4500 though, not 6k.
My full size Chevy pickup isn't even 6000 lbs. With an empty bed, my brother and I up front, I think it came out to about 5,800lbs on the scale.
I can't possibly imagine an el camino being more than an F-150 and that's not much more than 5000.
I was embellishing a little bit. It's actual weight is ~4500 lbs.

It's fine, I was just concerned they might actually weigh 6000lbs. That would be a heavy little car.
and i thought my 3000 pound supra was heavy
