im trying to create this character from divinity 2:the dragon knight saga. it is not finished yet. i am using 3dsmax, and a sculpting program called z brush. and and a tiny bit of daz. how does it look?
Are you trying to recreate the same character or one that's just similar? If it's the first one make his skin a little more tan and add the tiny mole you see to the left of his nose. If you want to make his facial hair look more natural it should be a little longer and less dense on his cheeks like this guy's. I fucking love it either way
thank ya nessman. im trying to create him in a more realistic version, as if that character got tossed into real life. as i played that character in divinity for about 129 hours...and im going to take your advice and tan the skin, and add the mark. maybe wispy wisp that beard [editline]11th February 2013[/editline] im having trouble thinning the beard...i might have to use photoshop for that. ill have a new pic up in a second. [editline]11th February 2013[/editline] here are some new revisions, one with clothes, a mark, and tanned skin, and i tired to thin the beard by adding some softness and postwork, for smooth edges, but....dont know how that looks. the other is all that but the beard is still to rugged. im not very good with hair other than on the head lol and this, a very enhanced version. [editline]11th February 2013[/editline] little better. [editline]11th February 2013[/editline]
God damn that body is sexy. While you're plucking those hairs also notice that below his lip it's shaped more like this and not this I just don't know if you did that intentionally or not
that looks like him when his is much older i think. maybe i should go with that, add wrinkles, and darker eye bags?
That's exactly what it needs for the older version if you're talking about the reference in the op. You may also want to raise the sides of his nostrils a tad but it's hard to tell with those pixelated references
here is a high resolution reference of the guy im trying to do. now that im looking closer, my character looks much older than this. this looks about 24 or so...my guy looks like the same person in his 40s i think. which i think works well. ill keep workin on it. Yeah, his septum needs to be much more pronounced
Yeah, his septum needs to be much more pronounced
workin on it. pic up soon. ( character modeling is more fun than i thought. im used to doing creatures.) [editline]11th February 2013[/editline] here. i trimmed his beard so his face can be seen better and here is a specular detail render

[editline]11th February 2013[/editline] ok, here is another try at it. i had to use a hand sculpt tool, to be precise. any better? i will keep working on it tomorrow. maybe add a custom armor set, like in the pic. and make the eyes glow
Could you give a few head one pictures that look slightly downward at him? What I'm talking about is the bridge from his face to the tip of his nose that's between both nostrils.
Could you give a few head one pictures that look slightly downward at him? I can't wait to see it. I'd draw what you need to do, but I let someone borrow my tablet last week and I doubt I'll ever see it again.
pretty much done, although 3d models are never truly done. and im pretty sure i know what your saying with the septum, here is a few profile pics, with the hair resolution turned down for easy render time. one with style and one a few with flair. (by the way, im using this guy in a 3d short film im workin on,but that is months away.) [editline]12th February 2013[/editline] look at the third pic in that post, and look back at the original reference pictures. pretty dam close.
It looks a whole lot better than before but do you think you could render it again with a black background and single light source? You've got lots of specular and ao with no full shadows
yeah one sec. bout to. [editline]12th February 2013[/editline] black background, one light source. no shine or specular, right here.
Where is the light source? The shadows are still way too soft [editline]12th February 2013[/editline] and make it up close to his face
Where is the light source? The shadows are still way too soft [editline]12th February 2013[/editline] and make it up close to his face
like this?
Is the beard being rendered last? it always lacks shading [editline]12th February 2013[/editline] Did you shorten it for that render?
Is the beard being rendered last? it always lacks shading [editline]12th February 2013[/editline] Did you shorten it for that render?
yeah i shortened it and lowered the resolution so i could get the renders fast. i can bump it right back up though. [editline]12th February 2013[/editline] i plan to use some better software soon too. i will show the enhanced version of him to ya, when i get that set up.
Eyes appear milky, from my experience eyes specular should be insanely sharp compared to any other specular used on a a human body (although hair can sometimes be quite reflective depending on the desired look). So yes, sharpen eyes specular please :)
My only gripe is this guys skin is to perfect, even a younger man has more detail. Just the texture no need to model anything. The eyes bother me too. But really it looks awesome I'm just nitpicking!
