Jam some Jazz or Blues, belive me, even if it's not what you want to play it's great to learn how to sync and experiment. Also you'll get the basics to basically any genre you're going to play.
no matter what genre you're playing, playing a few blink-182 songs will get you all comfortable
yes this your prepubescent singer should have no trouble.
I think you take for granted how hard those "screamos" actually are.
...It depends, sometimes its just natural for folk to be able to hit those lows and highs pretty easily.
Stop calling it fucking screamo, if you can get close to the sound death metal vocalists make I'll praise you. But I know you never will get close.
people need to realise that:
death metal: fast, uses growling (most of the time low deep growls, not high ones), blast beats, vocals usually about killing and hating jesus, distorted guitars and is overall metal as fuck EX)
screamo: no blast beats, really queer sounding high growls, not fast, uses techno (sometimes rap) which doesn't fit at all, songs with dumb titles about loving god, and the fanbase is full of teens wearing tight pants EX)
edit: but to get on subject just play some covers and see what you like. also this thread is from september 09.
dont use that singer
So OP, you guys have a band yet?

It's been half a year, if he was serious, probably.
Find a song that you all like, take some time apart and practice the instruments alone. Once you each become decent at the cover, get together. Play the music and cover along with it a few times. Once you can all play your part without forgetting or fucking up, start playing the song without the music.
