I bet your dad is sat in anticipation of an apparent divorce and to have his son try and guilt trip him into parting with a load of money!
HAHAHA my dad works commission. My parents got divorced when I was six and even though my dad's paycheck was sometimes NEGATIVE, he tried his damn best to make sure I was all set with anything I needed.
Well one day, they're going to run out of money and they're gonna yell at you:
WHY ARE YOU SUCH A FAILURE IN LIFE YOU GOT NO MONEY AND I CAN'T HAVE MY SURGERIES!!11
-lol, you didn't pay for my tuition.

Did you ever ask him for 10 grand for tuition at a private school for a year?
Lmao, this kid thinks going to a private school will give him some kind of advantage when it comes down to college.
It doesn't.
I went to a really poor, really shitty school. My house still got flooded with scholarship offers, despite me being ranked number 16 in the class. I wasn't even at the top of my class and I was still given offers by Harvard and multiple military academies.
High school is what you make of it. If you really care about your education so much, bust your ass to be number one in the class. Ta-da, getting into colleges would be a cakewalk after that.
Your parents are not obliged to pay for your stupid fucking ideas. You don't need private school so your dad isn't going to drop 10 grand for a year at a private school when you are going to get the same education as a high school. My dad was the head coach at a very esteemed private school in town for a few years and he said the kids weren't necessarily smarter, there just wasn't many of those outright losers you see in public school. The education itself isn't anything extraordinary, because it all boils down to the teachers. Private schools don't neccessarily hire better teachers, they hire teachers of the same caliber as high schools since they pick from the same pot.
Get a job and learn to pay for your shit yourself. I turned down every scholarship offer I got to every other school and decided to go to the one I'm currently at because I've always wanted to go there. They didn't offer me shit for a scholarship and financial aid fucked me, so I'm practically paying for school through large private loans. My parents didn't give me a penny. Do I despise them for it like an idiot? No, they're good parents. You have to learn how to grow up and manage your own shit sometime, kiddo. You can't expect mommy and daddy to do fucking everything for you.

They don't do everything for me. What else am I supposed to be managing? I did what they wanted me to do. I'm not a bad kid. I'm doing what most parents want their kids to do.
I like the story, though.
I'm glad I'm not the only one here who doesn't think I'm entitled to my parents money.
Go off on them. If I were you, make a scene in public. Make them feel like shit. Either way, you'll feel good in the end.

Yeah, show them how mature you can be by yelling and making a scene in public, that will convince them investing 10,000 dollars in you is a good idea.
Kids these days and their fucking retarded ideas.
Slap her in the face and tell her that she's a fucking bitch.
That's what I did to my mother
Move to Europe, become a citizen. Get free tuition.
I wouldn't gamble shit for the american college system. I'm not just talking about colleges by the way. There are a lot of Universities in Europe that give free tuition. You only need to become a citizen of the EU.

It's not that hard to get a scholarship for an american college you just have to do well in school.
As for the OP a private school doesn't help you very much when it comes to getting into a college, I would of had sympathy for you if they weren't giving you money for college but come on, you can get about the same education at a public school, you just have to focus. Big expensive schools don't always mean you will get a better education.
Let me get this straight: You are complaining that your father, who makes only $80,000 a year, won't pay an eighth of his yearly salary so you can go to a high school boarding school?
Not to mention Exeter tuition is closer to $40,000 a year, not $10,000.
If you want to be successful in life as you say in your thread, you have to fucking do things yourself. Don't expect help just because you asked for it, even if those are your parents. If you really want to get there, you wouldn't moan about it on Facepunch, you would earn money yourself. If you want to get there, you need to be desperate, ask every friend for some money, get a job. Just do something already.

Harvard doesn't give academic scholarships  and military academies are fully paid for, why would they send you scholarship offers?
Your parents make me sad that people like them exist on the same planet as me

For not having the money to send their child to a 40 thousand dollar a year institution when they only have 80 thousand a year?
OP, what state do you live in? A lot of the states have free state-ran boarding schools that, in most cases, compete with privately ran ones.
Sorry, but your parents are a couple of dicks.
Get a loan or apply for a scholarship.
This, OP, this. Hopefully you'll get a job and you'll be able to pay it. It's going to be tough, but it'll be worth it.
It's time to leave the nest, OP.

When you feel your parents are holding you back, that means it's time to leave.

He's going into his ninth grade year - that means he's about fourteen or fifteen. Not time to leave the nest.
