I think Nic Cage is massively underrated and equally overhated
And I'm not saying this ironically
Thought he did a great performance in Lord of War.
I cried while the whole school was giving a standing ovation to Hagrid in Harry Potter 2.
I cried while the whole school was giving a standing ovation to Hagrid in Harry Potter 2.
The only movies I've cried at the end were Peter Jackson's King Kong, Toy Story 3 and Act of Valor. The only book that's ever made me cried was Flowers For Algernon.
i liked Juno, thread over.
I liked David Lynches Dune.
Not sure why, probably nostalgia.
I really liked scott pilgrim. No one can know.
I really liked scott pilgrim. No one can know.
EVERYONE really liked Scott Pilgrim, it's a brilliant movie.
I thought Scott Pilgrim was terrible to be honest.
scott pilgrim is the worst piece of shit ever
people who are militant about "my opinion is right yours isnt" are the worst people in the world
hey rusty when did you get here
[editline]27th May 2012[/editline]
especially in a thread about unpopular movie opinions
and here i thought the worst people were the ones that took jokingly militant opinions seriously and complained about them on an internet forum
I lost my respect for Sandler after Jack and Jill, and almost let out a tear when my mom saw its commercial on TV and said "Huh this might be fun" when it clearly looked like yet another cliche of a movie.
I still haven't watched Blade Runner and other movies of that quality
I never watched Star Wars but find it increadibly overrated
I did not care for Shaun of the Dead, even got a bit grossed out by that guy getting gutted
There might be something else, but I can't remember.

You think that a movie is overrated when you haven't actually seen said movie?
I'd say watch the originals, then watch the prequels if you want. They get a lot of hate, but I still think that there's some redeeming qualities. The lightsaber duel at the end of Phantom Mencace is a contender for the best in the series, the action in Attack of the Clones is pretty good, and Revenge of the Sith is actually really good (love how everything goes to hell at the end).
There's two ways to watch them:
1. Originals, then prequels.
2. The first two originals, then the prequels (like a flashback from Darth Vader's perspective), then Return of the Jedi.
I just noticed something in Mr. Nobody that amazed me. It's really subtle and small, but I loved that detail.
When Nemo is sitting in his car at the carwash and "In to each life some rain must fall" is playing, the song cuts off at "...Some folks can lose the blues in their hearts" and a scene with Elise in the rain follows. The song's next verse would be "...But when I think of you, another shower starts".
I find Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Rob Schneider and the rest of such comedians just annoying. Like holy shit, they churn out cliché dumb comedies all the time. Yet everyone loves them. WHY
I thought everyone did.
i dunno, how was it received? everyone i know loathed it.
[editline]28th May 2012[/editline]
sorry but if you honestly like adam sandler you should just end it now.
The lightsaber duel at the end of Phantom Mencace is a contender for the best in the series
if you're 12 years old and think a fight is only good if it's perfectly choreographed sure
[editline]28th May 2012[/editline]
or if you're dumb
(these are interchangeable)
i dunno, how was it received? everyone i know loathed it.
It was received amazingly by pretty much everyone, except people who want their action movies to be dumb.
I fucking love this movie.

Holy shit, I just realized that it's 8 years old.
Its impossible to like this movie if you know anything about the subject material, the Iliad. Orlando Bloom is a good cast for Paris though, cause he's meant to be a whiny, unmanly pretty-boy.

I really love 'the last samurai', even though its the generic pocahuntas/avatar/dances with wolves story. Tom Cruise's acting was very good and restrained.
I thought the hangover was a terribly unfunny film, and hugely overrated as it didn't make me laugh at all and felt like a failure of what could have been a really good concept.
I always hated the Fantastic 4, but I really like the Thing
I don't know, he just looks so friendly
I found Aliens to be a generic action movie.
I think that For A Few Dollars More is better than The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
Not sure how much of a confession this is, but...
When I finished watching the last episode of Oz, I got the feeling of having completed one of my goals in life :v:
[editline]5th June 2012[/editline]
Oh, here's a worse movie confession. One time at school, our entire year was sent to the movie theater to watch some typical dramatic teenage movie about rape and love etc. I was thrown out of the movie theater for laughing out loud when the protagonist girl was being raped with a coca-cola bottle.
Jurassic Park is, and will be, my favorite movie of all time, even though I know there are way better movies out there.
It's both nostalgia, and fanboyism.
Jurassic Park will ALWAYS be my favorite movie. Plus it was one of the films that got me into dinosaurs.

Brofist
In ways I prefer the second too. :>

My school took me to see Bridge to Terabythia (No idea how to spell it) and Fred Clause...

Sadly can't remember what movie it was... but it's probably nothing you've heard of since it was in Swedish (I live in Sweden).
