Well, this is something I modelled a long time ago, but due my low experience with Materials for Vray in 3dsmax, I stopped working on it. But now I found some time to follow tutorials and pratice a bit, so I decided to work again on it using newer materials. It's not finished yet, I'll make a lot of versions with different materials..
Yes, I know Macs suck(fun to build though), yes I know I shouldn't have saved as a .jpg. Regardless, I think turned out okay, GI make it take about 50 minutes to render though. Close-up:
Model the keyboard and fix the texture errors.

I don't see how that render can take so long oO
the table texture is ugly and the reflected light looks odd
So I'm meant to be creating a 3D Mondrian style piece for school, but it's coming out pretty grainy: It's especially visible in the reflections and shadows. What do I need to change to get rid of this? using 3dsmax/Vray by the way.
Had fun with spherical terrains in Vue.

Yay, finished another version with a simple yellow/orange material.

Wouldn't a hdri sky take longer to render?
Model the keyboard and fix the texture errors.
Textures are makeshift as Im missing them at the moment. Cant be assed to model the keyboard.
Cant be assed to model the keyboard.
Let me translate: "Can't be assed to make it look good"
Yay, finished another version with a simple yellow/orange material. [img_thumb]http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/5050/guitargibsonxplorer02or.png[/img_thumb]
Might just be me, but the neck looks a little short.
I think the body might just be oversized, but I'm not sure.
Let me translate: "Can't be assed to make it look good"
The main purpose of the render was to produce a layout of the room, not spend hours modeling macro details on imacs. I've noticed you're always quite childish and attention seeky in your responses. It's okay though, chill out, puberty can be rough, I forgive you.
Now I think you're untalented and a douchebag.
Okay, maybe a bit harsh, nothing personal, but at least I'm giving feedback.
Yay, finished another version with a simple yellow/orange material. A simple, low-poly, AO baked house I'm trying to export for an animation. But fuck, I can't export the packed images and can't figure out which material's which(and they're all mental ray materials all of a sudden), and the animation's due tomorrow. I'll figure it out or something.
Looks like something made in hammer.
I couldn't be arsed to get the render to look right, there was this one-pixel outline around the house that i couldn't get rid of, so i just took a screen of the 3D viewport.

Also, made this one now few minutes ago. I really like it but it needs a lot of improvement to get exactly as I want. But the ideia is nice, IMO.
Might just be me, but the neck looks a little short.
Nahh, it looks short because the body is massive. I have one.

Add some trim around the roof in a different colour, get a better window texture and generally add little things to make it less blcoky. Also, the wall texture appears to be a single piece of wood, which I'm sure if both expensive and unrealistic.
You should try one, with a white body with an eagle, and the pickguard be mother of pearl.
Hm, I'll try this one, but firstly I need to understand what exactly is a "mother of pearl" (Sorry, googled for it but I still don't know what exactly it is)..
I assume it's the cool looking stuff that makes up pearls and shells. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nacre [editline]29th November 2010[/editline] or maybe he's talking about some brand I don't really know guitars at all.
MoP is what the inlays between the frets are made out of. It's produced from shells or something.
Ah, ok, thanks guys, I'll try to create a similar kind of material.
bad test render but w/e. I haven't done the joystick but it changes nearly every episode anyway. also makin cartridges. [editline]29th November 2010[/editline] posted this in the adventure time thread rrerr
