Yay, finished another version with a simple yellow/orange material.

Could you make one in white without the pickguard and maybe with a jackson style headstock?

I'll change it around eventually

Hm, yeah, I can try, but I still need to do 2 custom ones, then I'll try this one.

I think you should round the corners (more if you have already) and add a border for the screen.
By a border I mean just a groove going round the screen, a little bit bigger than the perimeter of the screen.
So I'm meant to be creating a 3D Mondrian style piece for school, but it's coming out pretty grainy:

It's especially visible in the reflections and shadows.
What do I need to change to get rid of this? using 3dsmax/Vray by the way.
looks like a silverchair album artwork

Ok. The wires are annoying to work with but I'll try to lazy model a groove. There are very tiny bevels but I agree it needs more.

Well, that's because they're both pretty much exact copys of Mondrian's artwork.
Ok guys...this is my very first serious (as in, real effort put towards making it look good) 3D model ever.
Because I'm a poor sack of shit, I'm using sculptris

FumeFX is awesome, and fun to mess around in.
Do anyone have any ideas for stuff I could do? :v:
As long as it isn't too advanced.

Another explosion.
Media tagged due to being a 15MB APNG.
Sexy, although a little too slow to be realistic.
You should try one, with a white body with an eagle, and the pickguard be mother of pearl.
Don't know if it is what you were expecting, but I tried my best. If you would like to see any changes to improve it, tell me and I will try again.
Also, did another guitar, but this one is not the Explorer. It's not done yet, I still need to change stuff, but I think it's getting nice.

Make a smokey and fiery tornado. Maybe some random electricity here and there for added effect
I think I've run into a bit of a snag with my scorpion in zbrush, My original topography wasn't uniform, so I've got some areas, even when divided, that are quite low res.
Theres the equalise surface area tool, but how will this affect the model when i put it back into maya? Does it just move stuff round, or add in polygons? I'll be using it in the unreal 3 engine, so I can't really have it add more polys :(
EDIT:
Tested it, doesn't look too bad, just makes triangles EVERYWHERE. Luckily they are on the armour of the scorpion, so I think it should be ok since they shouldn't be flexing

Doesn't matter if it moves or adds something, you can just retopo it when it's done.

Apparently it also adds some horrible massive gouge on its face, which makes it pretty unusable :(
Can I add edgeloops in zbrush?
EDIT:
Nvm found it i think :)
EDIT2:
Yep, fixed :)
Hi guys, im at an impasse, i don't know what to do, so my question is, what do i do with the inside of the mouth? there is 0% anyone would leave the mouth seeing out the back of the model.
ALSO: i'll put the eyes in later.

Hey guys, I recently found out I for some reason have a copy of 3DSmax 9 on an old family laptop, just wondering where would be the best place to get started learning how to use it? I've done the basic tutorials but I'm not sure what I should look at next. I've been to Tutorialized and the tutorials on the 3DSmax site as well, but none of them clearly say what I should be looking at next. I only know the most simple things about making models and applying materials to them.
Any help would be great. Sorry if this isn't the thread for it.

It's not impressive. He's a friend of a friend who is willing to help direct me to what options I have after college, next year. But it should be cool to get to meet him.

Update :)
Need to finish off the sides, and get the tail done. I'm gonna be copying the legs once i transfer it back to maya (seenas i missed one, and the back one is still smoothed)
I'll assume you're going to do a normal map. If so, those micro details probably won't hold too well. Looks great though! You'll have to add them back in with photoshop or at least play around with the normals you get
