Looking good. Right now the metal looks kinda rocky and not so denty though. That's my only crit.
I was messing around in Mudbox when I made the normal for the head. I'll fix it later.
Hey, Can someone teach me how to UV Map, I'm hopeless and hopefully will need to use it later :-D I'm using Max 2010. [editline]05:22PM[/editline] Ah yes, My Liberator is coming along nicely!
Fuck I hate max's instability! [editline]08:14PM[/editline] Automerge fail
Fuck I hate max's instability! [editline]08:14PM[/editline] Automerge fail
From what i have heard from other people its not instable, but i havent tried myself. Anyways, if you wanna learn uv mapping you could just google for a tutorial
From what i have heard from other people its not instable, but i havent tried myself. Anyways, if you wanna learn uv mapping you could just google for a tutorial
Max always crashes on me at the wrong times Grrr... Also every time I try to go for a tutorial it's always for the wrong version and it fucks up.
From what i have heard from other people its not instable, but i havent tried myself. Anyways, if you wanna learn uv mapping you could just google for a tutorial
It have crashed for me a few times. But usually it's able to make a save when it crashes.
Same as above. I think I've crashed 3 times max
I've never crashed with max.Oh wait I did once.
Ah, maybe I'm lucky with 3ds max, because it rarely crashes here (3ds max 2011 is less instable than 2010 for me).
Ah, maybe I'm lucky with 3ds max, because it rarely crashes here (3ds max 2011 is less instable than 2010 for me).
Yeah my 2011 works much better than 2009 did for me. Much less crashing when working with very high detail scenes.
Today I decided to finally start modeling a human head. I also decided to try and normal map it with a subdivision version. Here's a preview: As you can see, these are two instances of the same base mesh; one with normal map applied, and one without.
I've been dicking around with Canon EOS-1D MK iv the entire day. :smug: Oh yes, that lens is the default one, but i also have a fish eye and a fucking Hubble sized tube.
[img_thumb]http://lh6.ggpht.com/__9-i1bAPj4c/TEdjOIlyxuI/AAAAAAAACl4/7ZJ0B12t2fo/SuperSlege_Progress_2.png[/img_thumb] This any better? There are still some bits left on the normal map from the transfer that I do not like. I tried to smooth it out, though.
Hey, I was wondering if nVidia or someone who is used to flume could render some smoke out for me for real footage? I have tracking data.
Fuck I hate max's instability! [editline]08:14PM[/editline] Automerge fail
one thing I've learned: Keep one finger on shift, the other one on S, press them every other time you blink also NVidia, did you mean to post that in the photography thread?
We should ban daijitsu's music and make him talk when he streams
I talk when I'm at home, but if I'm workin' on 3d I'm in my office... my dad turns around every five seconds to say "WHAT?" to the things I say, then has something long and uninteresting to talk about now that we're talking about something. He also has good timing to have a ton of crap to talk about approximately two seconds after my favorite songs start playing, and when I think he's done and turn the music back on he has more shit to add.
Thats some excellent work, doesn't look like it has normal or bump mapping in game though, also are those premade animations or did you make them?
Premade. It has normal mapping, but it seems much more subtle in-game. I noticed that as well; the light really needs to catch it. I thought about going back and making it more apparent.
one thing I've learned: Keep one finger on shift, the other one on S, press them every other time you blink
Twice to be sure.
Bit early to share but who cars!
