I actually have no idea what I'm gonna use it for. I made it out of pure impulse. I have a decent stockpile of models that never get used in anything. The few times I've tried to implement into source end up broken.

because i wanted to illustrate the normal map detail vs the actual model complexity. And because i prefer to work with it on, so i'm not turning it off for a screen cap or two. I could of easily rendered it.

Add a specular map to those metal bands, the specular reflection is way too plain right now. Make it more like the floor.

Looking good, except the tape. It's too perfect. The model doesn't fit the texture. Whoever did the taping was VERY skilled to do it so evenly.
Alright, I gave the tape a bit of randomness in the edges. It looks much butter than before, so thanks.

I use it because I can import game assets to ArmA 2 without having to re-weight everything. Since then i've gotten very used to it. The controls are relatively simple, that, and/or the layout isn't as complicated as other modeling programs.
anyway, got my arm normals in game. not too satisfied with it , it's rather crisp. Nothing I can't fix.
