Lol it's the same wood over and over again
Lol it's the same wood over and over again

The way doorframe blends with that thing on the bottom of the wall(not sure how it's called) looks really wrong to me.
Actually yes, the doorframe usually sticks out from the board. http://www.merisier-hamilton.com/img/wood2.jpg
The molding sticks out from the wall regardless. In case if the door opens towards you, the door is usually on level with the inner part of the molding. In the other case, the door is usually behind a secondary inner molding that serves as the 'stopper.'
A doorframe is never made out of the same mesh that the molding is.
Hmm, on my door it's the same pattern but it's not connected. This is what it looks like for me, it being the bottom right corner of a door.
Yeah that'd be fine. They're clearly not the same mesh.
Made s Great White today: Teeth still missing, gills to small, a few seam problems. Will try to fix these later...
Vray is fun.
Definitely looks nice, I like the glow. How do you open the door?
Definitely looks nice, I like the glow. How do you open the door?
I'm planning to add the handle next.
Top cabinets usually have quite a bit less depth than lower cabinets. Love the metallic material on the faucet.
I'm planning to add the handle next.
Or you could make it into one of those doors that push both ways.
3DS Max is fun, better learn more about it.
Did a new render of my WIP-Shark:
There's something fishy about it..
WOW! all theese pics are soo profesional.. you guys are awesome
Would anybody like some hi res vinyl wood textures for smallish wood panels? Actually it's a bump map for solid color things like a black speaker or something.
Did a new render of my WIP-Shark: [img_thumb]http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/971/sharkf.jpg[/img_thumb]
This is cool, looks like a model though (I mean like a plastic model that you hang on the ceiling)
This is cool, looks like a model though (I mean like a plastic model that you hang on the ceiling)
I agree. When it's finished, I'll put it in a more suitable environment. ;)
It looks like a model because of the DoF, that would not really happen on a full sized shark.
Sexy, Jeggis, show us some teeth though!
It looks like a model because of the DoF, that would not really happen on a full sized shark.
Yeah, I did that on purpose. The shark is actually placed inside a warehouse, and I actually planned to put the model on a mount just to emphasize that this is not a great white under water. Although it will be, when it's finished.
Sexy, Jeggis, show us some teeth though!
I'll probably add them tomorrow, along with better textures.
Here's a test of the vray material i'll be using for the speakers I made. Here's how it looks in real life. Here is the texture if anybody would find it useful.
Trippy shit. Looks awesome though.
i made what appears to be a giant war chicken from a reference i found on an art thread. reference: [img_thumb]http://www.filedump.net/dumped/duckywucky21294784524.png[/img_thumb] here it is, flat. i spent some time messing with materials (i'm going to unwrap it when i'm not so busy), and i found it incredibly difficult to make a plain texture for presentation that i liked. i'm using 3dsmax 2011, what methods of material creation can you reccomend? i can't find any useful tutorials for some of the more basic principles of material creation. with that in mind- i made it very shiny. not easy to see the model, but after hours of trying to work out materials it looks better than what else i came up with. not coming back to this model for a long time now, i have other things i need doing.
You could have put the scene in a giant medium gray cube so the war chicken would be easier to see.
It's very square. Make everything more round. The feet are also just blocks, take a loot at pictures of real feet, add some more edgeloops (by cutting or slicing) and move the vertexes so they resemble the geometry of a foot.
He needs to look up some human modeling tutorials.
I don't care if they are complicated. Find some, and follow the directions. If you don't understand a step, look on google to see what it means/how to do it. You wont be able to make that person look any good if you don't. Remember, it's only complicated until you learn it, then it's easy. If you avoid learning it then you'll never learn it.
