Probably due to: the angmap
who?
the cheap DoF
partly
the misdirected lighting
How can lighting in 3d be misdirected? It's either bad or good lighting really.
the angmap
again WHO [editline]20th January 2011[/editline] oh angmap is some blender specific word that nobody has ever heard of don't use program specific terminology because I cba to click on any of the links on google
A bit noisy but I like it. New version: Less noise.
it looks cool but what is it
Some fluid ... I don't know.
its like a beautiful stream of radioactive piss
Okay, I'm currently attempting to grasp the basics of 3ds Max through the lynda.com essentials. I got my hands on the 2010 version of the essentials, though I notice there's also a 2011 version... Whilst using Max 2011, should I be watching the 2011 essentials instead of the 2010? I just don't want to miss out on any shortcuts and such that I may know the way around if there are more tips geared towards 2011. Maybe I'd be better off reading a changelog? Lool, I'm just not quite sure.
3ds max 2011 is about the same as 2010, but 2011 has new features. It didn't change drastically.
Where is autodesk 2012
The best thing about CG is you can do things you couldn't do in real life.. like open and close a piece of crap FUUUUUton.
I thought a futon was a small kind of matress japanese people put on the floor.
Most likely is but it's also what we call shitty little couches that make even shittier beds when folded out.
Yeah. It's not that bad though if it's got a decent mattress on it.
Cloth physics failure. Automerge failure as well.
Guys give me ideas for beginner video tutorial lessons. I got tired of people asking for the basics explained so I thought up this video tutorial series. Oh and I'm using 3dsMax but most of what I've been going through should apply to nearly all programs. I'm doing mostly techniques and methods, not program specifics. I got some covered already; setting up reference behind the model, plane/polygon modeling, using smoothing groups correctly, some quick model optimizing (going over tris and quads and stuff), and basic planar unwrapping to come.

Nowhere yet seeing as it's not done yet If other people want to start making video tutorials as well (nvidia, ajacks, etc.) it's even better. Let's make the internets a bit better place. :)
Most likely is but it's also what we call shitty little couches that make even shittier beds when folded out.
dont hate the futon
What I really want to see is Ajacks's texturing tutorial/timelapse
I don't see anything wrong? :raise:
Look at the corners, it's sticking through the frame and also sticking through itself.

Amazing!
Amazing!
I know, It was all skill. :v:
Gaahh, why can't Maya nParticle caching be multithreaded... Damn you Autodesk.
I'm currently animating my spider, you can watch my livestream :) http://www.livestream.com/3dnoobinworks Also, I'll be streaming sometimes while I game ;)
messing with morph targets..
Moprhing is awesome :)
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/minesword.png[/img_thumb] Made this while mc.net was down.
Your interpretation of the sword at a much higher level of detail is profoundly inspiring. How did you manage it?
After 3 hours of animation, my girlfriend suggested changing, and correcting some stuff on my spider mesh.. I did, but after I realised that I overwrote the old save file, and the autobackup files were to new, I managed to fuck everything up... The new mesh wouldn't sit correctly on the bones, and other stuff... Gotta animate the walk again... But taking a break now, gonna do the animation on sunday, instead of today. Making a room btw. It's from the previous school assignment, but I never managed to meet the deadline, so I'm continuing working on the last few stuff, before turning it in together with the third assignment we'll get. Right now I've enabled fur on carpets, and texture, rendering it out as I write, and I will post it here when it's done :) Everything is polymodeling, including the blanket on the couch. The term was photo realism. Reference
