I'd say 15 minutes absolute max to get it the perfect curve if you're anal retentive.
you could go through my stream at livestream.com/3dnoobinworks and see for yourself. Took me four hours to get that far.
I mean two hours for just the mouth? It doesn't seem possible to work that slowly/inefficiently.
It wasn't that I was slow, or inefficient, it's my first character I've ever modelled, and whatever I tried to get the mouth nice and smooth, didn't work at all... therefor after two hours of trial and error, I managed to find a solution... I could have gotten som much further
It's because the corners of the mouth kept looking like this [editline]26th January 2011[/editline] Here's mine
Does anyone have critique for the model I posted on the last page?
Does anyone have critique for the model I posted on the last page?
fingers look weird
fingers look weird
Shit, forgot to adjust them according to length. thanks
Moar WIP's - just some colors
I think I'm done with my GTX570 3d model. Now with some "graphic" textures (Recreated EVGA graphic / drawings. As suggested by many people, not just facepunch members). Some renders (the materials aren't the best you have ever seen but I think that they look ok): (media tagged this one because don't want to sound forcing people to load so many renders of the same thing). It's not completly perfect as I expected (got many 3ds max crashes while doing this, so it took much more time to get it finished, or w/e), I couldn't follow the reference exactly the way it is but I really tried my best.
Make the metal a little bit lighter in color, and make the bump texture on the metal a bit less visible.
Just a top hat after not doing anything in 3dsmax for a while
Make the metal a little bit lighter in color, and make the bump texture on the metal a bit less visible.
And maybe a very tiny noise map on the black plastic because it looks odd glossy. If he wants it glossy he should fix the IOR to look like plastic.
Here is a ship... It took a damn lot to do because it was so complicated(especially the hull). The water ad ground are just thrown there, never bothered to make them look good. One of my oldest models, an electric guitar. Default scanline renderer as you can see: Here I've found out about Skylight and Light Tracer: And my newest model is this extremely low-poly airplane. Decided I should follow 3ds max's tutorials. Simple texture applied(don't know how to UVW map yet)
Plane could be more low poly :V
Plane could be more low poly :V
It's got ~1000Polys. Here's a viewport ss:
You could make that with 300 and it would look the same :/
You could make that with 300 and it would look the same :/
Care to share how/tips? I'm still a beginner :sigh:
Care to share how/tips? I'm still a beginner :sigh:
Can I see a wireframe?
Can I see a wireframe?
I've posted it above. Post #4215
Can I see a wireframe?
The window/wing/propeller details can be done with bump maps and textures if you want it to be super low poly. All those bevels and indents are unneeded for low poly uses.

You got it
