Sweet, do you have an example of it in use? :)
Yep, look at my weapon below.
Could you post a wireframe of that? I'd greatly appreciate it :)
Sure. Is it subdivided? The render looks like it is...
no, it's rounded corners like nvidia said
Oh my bad, I kinda flicked through the latest posts.
Could somebody please point me in the direction of some good tutorials on 3DSmax?
DOes rounded corners work in vray :(
i'm pretty sure its mental ray only
You can get same effect using edgetex in bump slot.
can u do it in ~scanline~
can u do it in ~scanline~
Why?
scanline is the most advanced way to render on the planet
scanline is the most advanced way to render on the planet
Sorry, too advanced for me, I don't know about creased edges.
You can get same effect using edgetex in bump slot.
Wouldn't that make every edge bumped?
Wouldn't that make every edge bumped?
Everyone seems to be doing that and it works fine
It rounds egdes > 25° or so, you can work around this via beveling the edges. I did so on the inner part of the screws on top of the weapon.
It rounds egdes > 25° or so, you can work around this via beveling the edges. I did so on the inner part of the screws on top of the weapon.
Sometimes beveling edges is a real pain.
Everyone seems to be doing that and it works fine
Not really Rate me boxes if you think I'm amazing.
Holy crap that looks nice! Guess it's just bump+texture? Maybe opacity map+bump?
I don't like rounded corners. Subdivision is a lot more time consuming, but superior.
I don't like rounded corners. Subdivision is a lot more time consuming, but superior.
They both have pluses and minuses but I do agree with you. SubD is superior.
Can you tell me why it looks like that instead of rating me dumb? [editline]30th January 2011[/editline] I have made a beautiful simulation of a curtain in the wind.
Gotta love cloth physics.
That would look very creepy in a game like silent hill or something
That would look very creepy in a game like silent hill or something
yeah it was surprisingly creepy.
That would look very creepy in a game like silent hill or something
Maybe if it was made of vaginas. Opening and closing like mouths. Meat curtains :buddy:
I have a stupid problem, I'm trying to rig my sackboy model, and I've set up the biped and whatnot, as soon as I add the bones to the skin, it moves the oposite way of what I want it to :< Like it was mirrored or something, so I've tried to mirror it with the skin, but without any progress.. Any suggestion? :-/ [edit] Um.. The problem seemed to fix itself.. I figured I would try adding every other bones then the "main" bone... And everything works fine now. saxor16: the cloth simulation would look totally awesome with some sort of monster sound when it floppes. My mind automatically imagines a low disturbed growling when I watch the clip XD
Physique>>> skin.
I'll check into it later.. Looks to complicated just by looking at it.. Anyway, I fixed the problem. Oh, I've made a growl to go along with your cloth physics http://filesmelt.com/downloader/growl.mp3
My girlfriend was suggesting how to get minecraft to work when I was getting crashes and she said "try closing 3ds Max" omg hearing her talk 3d made me almost ~jizz~
