guys im serious, i don't have a scanner!
just buy a mac, they have one, i think.
just buy a mac, they have one, i think.
Even if they don't, mac makes your artistic skills 10x better, so it's a good investment.
Pfft, that's bs dude :P A type of computer doesn't make a person better..
Pfft, that's bs dude :P A type of computer doesn't make a person better..
Sarcasm.
I see.. Sarcasm doesn't work through text :P
I see.. Sarcasm doesn't work through text :P
Obvious one does.
[img_thumb]http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/5428/ss20110221123734.png[/img_thumb] [editline]21st February 2011[/editline] now that it's UV'd, i'm not sure how to go about making fabric textures.
If you're interested in a little challenge, you might try making your own textures, not from your own photographs, but in 3d. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. (Forget the Zbrush/Houdini part, it's similar in all 3d packages) ;)
ah yeah, seen it, but i'm using leather. and wood everywhere else. this is bad i shouldn't be allowed to make 3d models.
Dat wood
Looks... Interessting... I would suggest trying to make your own, or use google....
if the couch could think it would want to die
You should add some seams on those pillows. And use a nice shader to give it a leather look. Oh, and I think you should make it all one material.
Last time I checked you couldn't stitch wood like that
[img_thumb]http://gyazo.com/c7780d0e2611eca08ae2801442fdfcbc.png[/img_thumb] Last time I checked you couldn't stitch wood like that
Last time i checked was like at a sucoku puzzle I was doing and then there was like a mistake I made after finishing the puzzle and had all the boxed filled in. I noticed it as I was turning the page and you know when you make a mistake at a sudoku puzzle you probably got it like all wrong you know and you have to go back at that point and do it again. So what I did was ragequit. And later on I checked it only to find out that that was the only mistake I have made and I was incredibly happy about that.
The choice of color is horrid xD
[editline]21st February 2011[/editline]
[img_thumb]http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/1420/ss20110221141805.png[/img_thumb] if the couch could think it would want to die
Use noise & cell & smoke & dent to make a beautiful leather material.
[img_thumb]http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/4048/akuaku.jpg[/img_thumb] [editline]21st February 2011[/editline] Use noise & cell & smoke & dent to make a beautiful leather material.
what if i don't want a procedural material
Why wouldn't you? It's easy and you can adjust every aspect of the texture. Also you could go here (website where people share their vray mats) http://www.vray-materials.de/all_materials.php?mat=1545 This one's even better, but i'd turn to glossiness and add a dash of translucency. http://www.vray-materials.de/all_materials.php?mat=1613 If you want a cotton material, use a tiny noise map for color and tile this for the bump For a canvasy type of couch just go into photoshop, make two layers of noise, blur one vertically and one horizontally and blend, crop out the edges :)
Today I tried out retopologizing a Zbrush sculpt in Topogun. Here's a screen from Topogun; [img_thumb]http://herlandgraphic.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Muscles_Topogun1.jpg[/img_thumb] And Zbrush sculpt with new topology: [img_thumb]http://herlandgraphic.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Muscles_Zbrush1.jpg[/img_thumb] Please don't criticize the horrible anatomy of the muscles.
How did it look before?
In a high subdivision, exactly the same. Except before retopo the mesh was horribly organized. By the way, here's a normal map test in 3ds max: [img_thumb]http://herlandgraphic.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Muscles_3dsmax1.jpg[/img_thumb]
Stopped modelling for 6 months, just reinstalled blender, any ideas on what to make first?
Yeah, uninstall blender and install max or maya, or c4d, or modo.
Yeah, uninstall blender and install max or maya, or c4d, or modo.
This. If you're a student, Autodesk provides free licenses for a ton of their software. Get Max or Maya and stay the hell away from Blender's madness.
modeling a new building my only reference for it [editline]22nd February 2011[/editline] how can i make terrain like that?
