select edge 3 - 4, and then hold shift while dragging the gizmo up towards 1 - 2.
When i do that it just creates two new vertexes.
[editline]03:41PM[/editline]
My bad, I was still in vertex mode (Instead of in edge mode)
So this is one way, But there must be a way to manually connect the vertexes right?
Yea you can manually create faces.
Yea you can manually create faces.
Would you kindly explain how?
Create all the verticies you want in vertex mode, then go to face/polygon mode and click the Create button, I think it's under Edit Geometry then just click on the verticies where you want the face.
Just made a little part of the car i'm planning to model.

If you are a complete beginner in 3dsMax then why start off the hard way? and how come you get a such a nice environment and shiz?
I'm not trying to be mean but I kinda doubt this is your first time modeling.

We'll i must say i'm really honored! Thank you. And i promise you, this is my first ever try at modeling. I saw a few tutorial video's on YouTube about people making some kind of weird bend plane for posing stuff in, so i fucked around a bit with that until it looked okay, Then i kept fucking around with rendering until it actually rendered something. And yeah i like doing things the hard way.
[editline]09:49PM[/editline]
Oh yeah, i also completely followed a 10 minute tutorial on using blueprints.
Handleiding/boeken 3d max altijd handig!

damit netherland, why must you sound so much like both norwegian and german.
i keep loosing my insiration to model, i have a 1/3 of an old ford car.

Well that explains it.
That is awesome.
Do you have a job with 3D?
No. :saddowns:
Why not?
[editline]12:37AM[/editline]
Have you got a massive portfolio that you've given to valve?
Aw, you would probably get one if you showed your work to some scout

I suck at 3d

That model isn't mine.
I would love to work for valve in the future, but as far as i know they use Maya, and i use 3dsMax. :saddowns:

I think it doesn't matter for them which Software are you using, could even be notepad modelling, what matters is your ability. That's what I think...

The transition between maya and 3ds max isn't so bad. I started with Max and switched to Maya, and it was pretty smooth.
Once you understand the principles or modelling and rendering etc, learning the nuances of a new program is no big deal.

That's a nice work actually. You're not too good at Tetris though. :v:

From Nvidia design garage.
About 10 minutes of rendering on my GTX 480.
Daymn...
Oh Damn. Thats amazing. See 10 minutes, this is why I want GPU Accelerated rendering :-(
Well, there's always Vray RT.
having a few (loads) of problems with 3ds Max 2010. Could someone please help me?

Running Windows 7 btw

managed to fix the face highlighting, but my quads are still shown as triangles
It should install both versions of max on a 64 bit computer. It's an option.

Jeans I know your pain, but it's simple. Turn it back to DirectX 9 not DirectX 10. That will get rid of the triangles and change it back to quads.
Also if your faces are being shaded red when you select them right-click the top left plus sign and then go to configure/rendering Method and then make sure "Shade Selected Faces" is checked.
