For those listening, what are some good Lighting Tuts? not just websites, do you have one you have bookmarked? Also: 3Ds Max

So I want to export some models to source. But! I need to export them as SDM then compile etc etc. I looked at some tutorials, and found that the latest SDM exporter only supports up to Max2010. I have Max 2011. What do I do?
http://www.tutorialized.com/ has ALOT of tutorials for Max, and quite a few tutorials for C4D, I used this site alot when I was in my animation class last year. also, I have a video that me and another guy made in animation (in 3DS Max), would I be able to post it in this thread?

My very first render. :D Already learnt so much, and nowhere near the standard of any of your stuff, but I'm proud of it:
you got a reason to be proud, but the tip is strange. Sexy bump map.
Cheers. :) I didn't create any of the bump maps or textures, I downloaded a pack of them, do people usually create them from scratch or just buy them and download them?
you got a reason to be proud, but the tip is strange. Sexy bump map.
its a hollow point round. bullets don't rust like that.
Cheers. :) I didn't create any of the bump maps or textures, I downloaded a pack of them, do people usually create them from scratch or just buy them and download them?
Depends on what you are doing and the person in my opinion.
bullets don't rust like that.
It's supposed to be a sort of explosion blast/tarnish, I'll keep it in mind and try changing it. :)
Almost no one makes his textures from scratch here. At least the people who go for realistic looks don't. Because creating realistic textures from scratch requires a lot of work and skill.

But, it is great practice to improve upon yourself. It is quite possible to make a realistic texture from scratch, and, as DOG-GY said, it is worth it.

really badly edited because the guy I was working with HAD to export in 25 or so different sizes and 3 different formats, so I had to piece it together in WMM and then add titles and music in Vegas, and I added the ramierez joke right at the end seeing as group was doing a joke abot how he does everything. as well as the fact that I wasn't supposed to get the chance to take this class until grade 10, but I was randomly placed in it.

Animation is bad, rendering is bad, camerawork is kinda bad too. I hoped it would be some MW2 related animation, turned out it's some biped. I was disappointed. Really, you need to improve on everything. Not even good editing would save this.

It's like when you make your very first pivot/flash animation, you don't need to show it off to everyone. But keep on rendering and animating, you'll get better over time.
Anyone remember Colin's bear?
nope, enlighten us.
