In Cinema4D... I have a skyscraper texture and I want the windows to be fullbright.
I made a texture so it knows where the windows are (and for the reflections), but instead of illuminating them it just covers them with ugly white...

Anyone know how I can get nice looking bright windows?
Nevermind, I'm getting there lol, though they still dont really look like theyre being light up from the inside..

Nice
Yeah, It does good, but too thin. Looks like some sort of sealife.
What theme do you have?
Theme?
No, seriously, this is not going to impress anyone.
It's like when you make your very first pivot/flash animation, you don't need to show it off to everyone.
But keep on rendering and animating, you'll get better over time.
I came here knowing fully that it wasn't going to get praise for being good, but yeah, I can only practice and get better with time.
It may not really look like it but it's not that thin.

do not, at all start with animations! creatle more simple things first, then work on making it look good.

Did you use hair for grass? If yes, don't do it again, if you want realistic grass that's it.
Theme?
Windows theme, if you have 7.
do not, at all! start with animations. creatle more simple things first, then work on making it look good.
I'd say he needs to learn how to model something before he tries animation.
You need to understand modeling.

Becomes too much work for me

i fragmented my senctence really badly, i mean dont start with anmations.

we didn't spend much time modelling in the class, which is actually one of the things I wanted to do more then animate.

Why not?
A template I think people should follow is:
Basics>Category you want
In simple, if you want to be an animator, all you have to do is learn the basics of the app and then go straight to animating. Most animators don't need anything more than basic modeling.
Can't believe what I just read. Why can't you start with animation, that's an extremely dumb thing to even suggest? You need to understand anatomy and drawing in general in order to make a convincing animation much more than being able to model! Sure, understanding modelling/sculpting is almost expected and will only help.

Just let him do what he wants and stop telling him he can't do something because it's not how you work.

Worked some more on that street scene!
See if you can remove the things that stick out in the windows with photoshop like the yellow thing and plant. I love the ground by the way.

Lol funny guy

Yeah, you're right, I'll see what I can do.
In the meantime, I got the whole thing on a warm sunset.

Doesn't look like a sunset at all. More like a night with yellow windows.
why does everyone all have their lights on? fix that.
make it earth day
Working on a random scene, here's a quick render from Indigo, (Yes, I know it's quite grainy, still tweaking things)
