Since feedback, worked some more on my street scene. Jesus, it's going to take ages to render an animated camera through it.
Would be nicer without the jpeg
WHYYYYY JPEG???? i was just about to say it was good, BUT JPEG MAN???
Transparent as always.

WHYYYYY JPEG???? i was just about to say it was good, BUT JPEG MAN???
Bahhhhh, I'm sure I'll work on it more, what format should I use then?
Transparent as always.
Looks pretty sweet, nice GI too. How long did it take to render the animation?
About 2 hours.
JPEG is fine, just use 100% quality setting.
If you use JPEG someone might slap your shit.
Well im still total shit at modelling and I have been doing it last 2 years and been drawing last 4 years. Heres some of the latest works http://repotoni.webs.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=9163819 But still, if I want to get a real job (something like valve or gearbox or namco) I have loooooong way to go.... god dammit....
PNG, totally uncompressed
PNG, totally uncompressed
Unless you're doing crystal clear renders, there is no need for png and it's huge file size(compared to jpg)
Unless you're doing crystal clear renders, there is no need for png and it's huge file size(compared to jpg)
Why do people bitch about PNG being huge? We are in the future now, get rid of your dial up.
Ppl be bitching all the time, now and tomorrow.... anything and everything will be good for bitching to them... even for me if Im in bad mood...
Why do people bitch about PNG being huge? We are in the future now, get rid of your dial up.
Because loading an image faster is bad right? Why use huge files if you can do the same with smaller ones?
256 color png like a pro
Why do people bitch about PNG being huge? We are in the future now, get rid of your dial up.
Takes quite some time to load a 30MB png even with my 8 mbit
i have a 1680x1080 png render, witch is 1,7 mb. Your argument is invalid.
i have a 1680x1080 png render, witch is 1,7 mb. Your argument is invalid.
You are saying it like 1080p is a lot...
witch is 1,7 mb? Animated png's with lots of frames are massive
You are saying it like 1080p is a lot...
You don't ever need more than that to show off in this thread, or show off any unfinished models at all, ANYWHERE. 1080 is a lot for a showoff picture, it can cover a fucking screen if you're poor. [editline]08:54PM[/editline]
witch is 1,7 mb? Animated png's with lots of frames are massive
oh wow, you pointed out a spelling mistake, proud? anyways, not many makes apng, the are either for avatars, or transparent pictures, and they are often 150x200. Stop arguing and get a new internet connection.

Actually jpg is better for screenshots. As I said, 100% quality jpg has almost no quality loss. jpeg is better for photos and other stuff that do not require crystal clear visuals. Sure logos and illustrations should be png because of lack of colors.
Actually, I always render my animations as PNGs, then I put them together in VirtualDub.
Actually, I always render my animations as PNGs, then I put them together in VirtualDub.
If it's an animation, that's what you should do. The last thing you want is artifacts in an animation. JPGs are good for stills, for animations it's terrible.
Almost no quality loss you say? As stated earlier, png has 0 compression = 0 quality loss. Please, stop arguing. You dont know what you are talking about. I have not at any point said that png is best for everything, but for 3d rendered pictures, its the best because of 0 compression. Now lets stop this stupid argument, and continue with 3d Edit: if you are getting artifacts in your gifs, you are doing it wrong
johan does know what he's talking about. You're not understanding him.
So whats better, 100% JPEG or PNG?
it depends
Thats what i have been saying, showing off work you have done should be uncompressed
not necessarily.
