HOLY FUCK, this is awesome, specially because everything is modelled !
I honestly thought that background was a photo until ferdem mentioned it. It might be just me but it looks like the car is floating, but I know it's not.
It's not floating, lol. I think you expect there to be a bit of weight on the tyres, which I didn't add, so the wheels are perfectly round. :(
I gotta pay more attention to this thread... 3d crap IS my job after all v:v:v
does anyone in here take requests? I always have some modeling gruntwork I'd rather just dish out to someone for a few bucks.
I can make some pretty bitchin cubes.

Yeah, now you mentioned about the tyres, they don't look so realistic (in a physical way, i think), but all the rest is perfect. Good job.
There is a driver! :D
Yea, but you can only really see him in the viewport screeny lawl.
Nice render though.
I am curious on a few things however
How long did it take you to make that? like, in hours spent in the actual program.
Also how long did it take to render?
Some more progress on my house:

You can see the outline of his silhoutte in the driver's seat, actually!
Hard to say how many hours it took because I don't time myself. Also did an other project (Nemesis vs Wildcat) while doing the Cortina project so it was on and off. I model around 2-3 hours most days, I started the Cortina project 3 weeks ago but I did absolutely nothing but play games and chillax for 8 days in that period. Render time was a nice (give or take) 20 minutes in total.

The driver is a bit darker in the render, it was hard to see him.
I think a brighter material, or something that could make him more noticiable would make the render look even better and realistic.
(don't know if you got it, lol)

this is amazing
but the road surface is way too flat
also the thing about adding weight to the car : )
Just lost about two hours of work because my computer crashed before I saved. I need to learn to save more often than I do...

Save before hand, hit crtl S everytime you do anything! I remember thinking how tedious it was to do even small bits over and over.

I'm working on it \:v:/
No you didn't.
Yes I did.
Well that depends on your definition of 'using' I suppose.
I feel like modelling something but I don't know what.
So I made exactly that!

Sif no AutoMerge

If you are using 3ds max, try "increment on save" option, it's very useful for saving works.
Updated the box a good amount. Also making the TNT, Nitro and the other types of boxes right this second.

The edge planks are too thin, I feel.

Or Autoback set to every minute with 20 save iterations, that's what I do.

what's autoback?
Some sort of autobackup/save?
I made a buster sword a couple weeks back and I figured I'd post it here.

I have some other work on my moddb page (Under the same name as my fp name.)

Exactly.
Hey guys, is there any way to open a 3DS Max 2011 file in Max 2010?
Hey guys, is there any way to open a 3DS Max 2011 file in Max 2010?
I don't know about max but with maya you can save the filein a ASCII format which you can open up in notepad or something and change the required version from 2011 to 2010.
Fuck I hate Max. I was modelling a mask or something (I have no clue why) and the fucker crashed when I was going to my edit poly modifier. but thank god for autosave.

You can always export the mesh and import in 2010.
