Uhh...
Great reply. Let me read your mind so I know what you meant.
Terrible previews. Sphere on the left, I have no idea what it even shows, some stretched shit. Sphere on the right is upside down. Refractions are not very good to show off HDRis. Best way is 100% reflection.
Anisotropic gloss, matte, and glass.
A robot I've made recently: I'm still really inexperienced at 3ds max..
That's awesome. Do you have an animation or something?
So far I've attached all the parts to a biped, but since the animations I applied to it aren't made for robots, the joints at the hip and shoulders are popping out everywhere...

The materials were instead picked for no other purpose than to show what I usually combine with HDRi lighting: Standards shade, typically in matte objects like buildings. Glossy, anisotrophic metal, like in weapon parts, vehicle parts, and other tool-like objects. Clear glass, as I do a lot of architectural visualizations including glass furniture. I hope this cleared things up! :)
Cool, although this is a Post YOUR-thread.
Ah, I forgot about that. Anyway, just wanted to share something nice that I found..

Blocking out a scene from a dream I had. Looks better on my drawings and looks sexy in my head. Creep dream though. If you can actually tell what's going on, take a shot. I'm posting to motivate me to work on it.

Tested my highpoly baking workflow and put some walls and floors ingame that I'll be using in my super secret mod. Ignore the white textures.

How to create that Wireframe material ?
How to create that Wireframe material ?
What app
Create a regular Vray material and in the diffuse slot put VrayEdgesTex. Then open render properties and from the Vray tab find the 'use override material' spot in the global parameters rollout. Just tick the box and slab the mat you created there. [editline]11:04PM[/editline] If you use vray that is
