What did you use to render?
[editline]11:25PM[/editline]
Rendering a small animation with V-Ray (Fuck yeah v-Ray)
I didn't make the model, It's just a test of V-Ray pretty much and dynamic lighting (moving lights) It's just 2 blue and red target spotlights circling a sci-fi blaster thing that I ran mesh smooth on around 3 times.

Max 2011 can save to 2010 as well. It's a dropdown option in save as. It seems to hate materials though.
I don't have Max 2011 though, I got the file from a friend. I suppose I'll have to have him resave the file. Thanks.

The sniper i showed you guys earlier.
That is awesome! :aaaaa:
I guess that really shows what a good texture and render can do for a model. Not that the model was bad or anything.
Sometimes texture add pseudo geometry which wouldn't need to be modeled in. I just mean like, a texture could fake extra details in the surface.
Fuck, I haven't rendered a video in ages and forgot my number one rule. Don't render with codecs. Argh, So I got one frame of my render from overnight and a few million errors.

It just made it that extra bit awesome.
Nvidia, I don't think that the scope is properly placed: that is a Leupold CQ/T scope, attached to a Picattini rail, so it was supposed to stick into the rail, not the gun itself. Furthermore, the scale of the rail is not right, it's just too small for the scope to attach. Other than that, it's jaw-droppingly awesome.
Reference image about the rail and the scope:

yeah and it's floating. guns can't float

It doesn't really matter.

Actually going for as accurate as possible is kind of the point with guns that are based in reality.

Sorry to burst your bubble but that doesn't look like he copied a real gun.
Is there a way to do sort of like expressions in 3ds Max?
Like, if I were to make a car for example I could tell to make the wheels rotate accordingly (as in based on the distance travelled and wheel circumference etc)
Sorry to burst your bubble but that doesn't look like he copied a real gun.
Everything is based upon reality, even if it's something you made up on the spot it will be based on something.

I like the stock with the cylinder, I don't like the rest. The handle is too thin for a sniper (your hands would be tired).

Here is the reference i made and used.
I can't see any big problem with the sniper. Everything seems to be ok for me.. Also, forgot to say that it's awesome.
So our cable has been down for the past three days. I haven't gotten much done on the cubeecraft models because I didn't have the files downloaded before. I did finish the ATHF models, though.

It's based on reality, which means that it is designed to be functional if it exists. The point of making a realistic model for things like a gun is that it would work. So yes small errors are perfect candidates to fix.

That's awesome man, I'd love to see a wire frame of that if it wouldn't be a bother.
I'll get a screen of the wire frame later on. I must warn you though, most of it is an illusion.
realflow is fuuuun, but slooooow

Realflow is like OE Cake only in 3 dimensions.
The water's consistency isn't correct, if it is even water.
It's not water, it's more like paint or oil or something.

Oooh, that's fucking incredible looking! Really like the spidey web effect at the end.
And as you may notice now that you quoted it, it's a transparent APNG.
