can anyone help me with this? my computer will not run max [b]at all.[/b] I tried complete uninstalls and complete reinstalls about ten times, I even downloaded the trial for 2011, and that won't even run. The second I press launch it crashes and goes straight to an error report. can anyone please help?

(i might be thinking of max2010 though in this regard)

Try downloading your latest GPU plugin and directX runtime.
I installed the latest 3ds max 2011 hotfix with no problems whatsoever and it's actually running faster, I tried to install maya 2011 hotfix 3 but it just comes up with a window saying maya is already installed, of course it is, I want to install the hotfix damnit :( EDIT: Nevermind, apparently I have to uninstall it and install the hotfix which is actually the whole thing.

I have a question about reactor with 3DS, if anyone here can help me. I'd really appreciate it. I'm making a small contraption with a ball, and several parts in it. But for some reason, when I run it in the reactor simulation, the ball appears as if it's hovering over everything. You need to change the collision tolerance to a low number (careful, stuff starts to fall through) or scale up your work and do the former as well. The problem is that it's kind of like a pillow encasing your object. It won't be as visually accurate unless you change those options. It's under the Havok 1 World box

That was exactly what I needed. I turned down the collision tolerance and it seems to be working now. Just have to line it all up now, and that much of it will be done.
