I'm trying to prototype a product and would anyone be kind enough to give me a free candybar phone model?
Anyway, here's my AR lower that I've been working on:

[img]http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/4656/ss20101017230939.png[/img]
added a person standing in front of the entrace, since id need to figure out my scales to add the tennis court on the roof. how does it all look in relation?
[editline]17th October 2010[/editline]
by my maths/scaling
[img]http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/7826/ss20101017232035.png[/img]
that person is about 6ft tall and 1 max unit = 3/4ths a foot.
[editline]17th October 2010[/editline]
does it look okay?
I think he's big for that scene. The windows don't look so bigger than him. I would scale him down a bit, but I'm not so sure about that because the image is in perspective..
They don't seem to be full size windows so that's acceptable. Office windows seem to be more proportional to a widescreen monitor.
the windows on the cylindrical part are full floor windows. the other windows are about knee high.
guys guys, what's the name of the tower that fell? [sp]eiffel[/sp]
[QUOTE=Stathis;25483318]guys guys, what's the name of the tower that fell? [sp]eiffel[/sp][/QUOTE]
I fell? Well damn, shit happens.
That's all well and good but, how is this relevant?
I know! Someone should model the Eiffel Tower....
I think approaching something like that would be better in a dynamics program like Houdini rather than Max or Maya etc.

Huh what? Modeling eifel would be rather easy in any program.
So I had a go at modeling the Rialto bridge in Venice. It's not quite done yet, and it's not quite to scale because I started doing it during a class. I'm also having a go at UV texturing it, though I don't have much experience with that I'm learning as I go.
Just though I'd share...

Oh and don't mind the pillar, I was just testing different materials.
With the right materials, that's gonna look great.
looks good so far, much better then my shit.

Calling your stuff shit won't motivate you. Instead call it good, but not as good as <insert someone here>
Instead of putting yourself down, put others up so you have an "idol" to follow. Hence why I look at a lot of cg art, I find stuff that look better than mine and that boosts me to become better.

nah its really pretty bad, but as it stands, i have all the motivation i need to improve: the prospect of making money on turbosquid.
[editline]18th October 2010[/editline]
but i know i have quite a bit to go before i can start selling my models.
also can someone please explain to me the usage terms of cgtextures.com textures? as far as i understand it, its okay to take them for free, modify them however you want and then sell them along with your models?

Yes.
You don't even have to modify them if you distribute them with a model.

Saw that on polycount, I like the old bomber-like cockpit but the round "shoulder" things are rather bland in my opinion.
come to think of it, on some mechs they have like, basically a crotch guard thing, and some even have like, frontal leg guards. i those looks pretty chill most of the time, so you should try adding them, see how it looks.
[editline]19th October 2010[/editline]
progress

Don't jump biped; don't do it man!
That is a damn nice building. Only thing I don't see "right" about it is that a garage sort thing is beside a food court. It just looks really out of place.
[editline]19th October 2010[/editline]
What I mean is if I was eating I wouldn't like to see cars going in/out of a garage. Maybe a park area or something would be better suited in that area.
