Media tags are only for video now, but I'll post only a preview image and a link.

It's done in about 37 minutes, rendering at a speed of 1 frame every 8 seconds.
The momen this post was posted, I was rendering frame 746.

Ah, I didn't know media tags are video only now...
Ok, a link is fine ! :)
I just started to think that since it's water and a metal ball, I figured that no quality would really be lost by using grayscale. (it also reduced the size from 40MB to 7,4MB, so i'm posting it here.)

Progress on my Medieval Hammer (also my first decent 3d model, I think):

Good so far. Just be sure to put some wear and tear on it where it needs to be. When you texture the handle, work especially where it connects to the top.
Me and Pythagoras are going to slowly remake Planet Express in source, all out. I just finished the TV, simple enough but was a fun change of pace.

Oh man that looks great! It looks like it's directly from the show.

Why yes, it is as comfortable as it looks.
Pleeeease make a map of the Planet Express when you're done, I'll love you forever.
Do you happen to have that big schematic layout of the planet express building? Because I know there's a lot of things inside the place, and seemingly more and more stuff gets added throughout the show.
Like in a recent episode, the ships cargo was decorated like a basement during a tornado.

I'm trying to make it a little bit different, then I'll make one on my own once I finish this one.
Working with a 17" monitor is a pain in the ass, I gotta build a good 2 or 3 monitor setup by christmas :(

Did the Ghostbusters cubes just now. They have their packs on, too. I decided against making a render of their backs, however.
I'll post the Frylock wire frame sometime. I think I might get some sleep now, however.
I made my new avatar quite quickly in 3ds max :v:
I made a hd box.

Can anyone recomend a good Cinema 4D texturing turorial?
I know how to make bumpmaps n stuff, just have trouble aligning & scaling textures properly.
Gonna compile for Source, the diffuse VTF is 2MB and the normal map is 16MB. :wtc:

Good, but the edge texture looks too symmetrical you can clearly see it where the edges meet.
Probably won't be too visible in a game environment anyways.
My brain hurts when I start thinking how you get a piece of wood like the outer "box"
@legend I would say that you need to do a little playing around. It looks good, but those edges are standing out as repeating way too much. Try to make it look like the edges are made of separate pieces of wood. Right now it's as if it was carved as one total piece (with some really funky grain).
It'll take splitting up your UV more. You'll have more islands but you can totally pull of repeating textures way better.
Fuck I hate that I'm in Ukraine for another 19 days. I have so much shit I want to model now. Specifically, I'm hoping to get into car modeling and maybe start with the Lada or something. (That soviet car that you see in every ex-soviet block country ever)
[editline]09:01AM[/editline]
Minor suggestion as I just skimmed through the thread and noticed the same, "how to get starting doing this coolio shit" question a few times. Maybe add some sort of getting started with 3d modeling section to the OP, including software to use and all that good stuff.

I'm kinda done with the model though, I suppose I could make another eventually where the texture isn't for the whole box, seen as I just packed each one seperately into the full uv space.

Done? Is this for a deadline or something? It doesn't sound like it because that's a huge waste (to be frank, don't take this badly). If you're saying it's done and you did it on your own time, I'd recommend going back over it. No reason not to.
Testing a material.
