Tacky render, but you get the picture. I increased the resolution quite a lot on this too. I'm slowly learning Maya. :v:
I think I'm gonna make something using the fracture thingy, like a glass full of water which gets hit by a projectile, shattering and spilling everywhere.
Needs a nicer background.
I miss Ajacks where is he.

HDRi would be nice

Here is a printscreen of a hand I started.
Ugly fingernails, I never understood people who cut them off so far.
Also, what are these green lines, some kind of a rig?
Also look at your hand from the side, it's not entirely flat, it creates a curve that increases more when further from fingers
Friend told me the same thing on the flat thing, and I'll work on the nails once I get some more detail going.

Better to fix the shape of the nails now, before you have more detail. Always get the general shape of everything down first.
And by shape, I mean what Johan said. They are cut really far inward.

Also, obligated content for the top of the page:

It may look it, but those are not just planes.
Started modelling items and so on from Minecraft for a scene I planned to set up. Did this a while ago and haven't had time to get the rest of the materials in.

That looks fun to make a cheap inception scene from. :v: (With the city bending)
Has greeble been actually used in anything that's not cheap?
Spent this evening working on this, after seeing the side renders i noticed that i need to work on the hands a little, anyone got any other things to point out?

That's a nice model but a bit low poly around the shoulders and is really noticeable.
That's a nice model but a bit low poly around the shoulders and is really noticeable.
[editline]30th October 2010[/editline]

Go into plugin manager and un-load and then load it back?
Go into plugin manager and un-load and then load it back?
Where's the plugin manager?
Well, it basically vanished. I uninstalled 3ds Max 2010 & 2011, could that of affected it?
Fuck it, I'm reinstalling Maya.

No that could not be the problem, max and maya are not related.
Window>settings/preferences>plugin manager.
I reinstalled it and it's still not present in either plugins or Maya itself.
What is not present?
Mental Ray, I've decided to reinstall EVERYTHING from autodesk in a last attempt to get it to work.
Are you looking for mayatomr?
?
In plugin manager, mental ray plugin is called mayatomr.mll

Ahahahahah, I just realised what 'tomr' stood for and enabled it, I have no idea why it was disabled, but I'm relieved that it works once again. Thanks for the help Johan.

Well once maya crashed and all my plugins were disabled, that's nothing strange if maya does something like that :)
These images don't show anything from good technique, but are created on my iPod. They are tests to show the rendering so are only Spheres, but I am going to try and make some more complicated things soon.

On your iPod you say? What are you using that works with an iPod?

I'm using a app called iTracer for the Rendering (and currently modeling), and I plan on using iSculptor to do the modeling. You can also import models from your computer it's pretty good.
