Well, thanks to myself being so damn polite I have to wait till tuesday for CE3 SDK. My tutor said he'd of done it if I'd of asked him during class. Oh well, I have shitloads to do this weekend including setting up my VPS, site and gameservers.
The model itself is pretty good, but the scene itself isn't great. You may want to add more details to the parts that are closer to the camera, and change the lighting to make it a little more interesting.
Well its not done and the lighting was a simple 5 minute thing but thanks ill take any advice.
but theres not much more detail i can add (besides what im missing) other then the texture

This is the one im modeling it after
no offense but those uvs on the dress are pretty bad. No wonder your normals look so poor.
Are they even a high res?
It's just a UV shot from Maya.

Here's the sculpted geometry:

Here's the 2200k geo with normal map:

I'm thinking if I should use a higher poly model instead of that one.
Since it is really stretching the UV using the 2200k tris model.
The map transfer tool is leaving a lot of my details behind.
Yeah the sculpted model is rather low poly, hence the jaggy normals.
next up is 8800k, hmmm need to decide if I want to go one up :/
next up is 8800k, hmmm need to decide if I want to go one up :/
Are you talking about basemesh or sculpted mesh? If sculpted, well, 8k is very little. You should go atleast 100k
sorry I wasn't clear, and I miss-typed.
base is 2200 tris, sculpted is 500k tris
I want to go up on that too.
Since it's a relatively large model, I might do something around 1-2M then down to 8800.

Yeah I have this same guitar. By more details I meant more polygons, at least on the back of the body to make it look smoother.
Down to 8000? For the low poly? 2200 seems to be quite enough for the low poly, it's the high poly that needs the smoothing. I can't see how that is 500k though, it looks so low res.
Your hp needs to be subdivided at least twice before you'll get a clean normal bake.
Thanx I'll do another few passes in subdiv on hq.
I also need to do smooth normal on the hq one, forgot to do that.
Ok apparently according to my friend the educational SDK is only available to higher education facilities (universities) and can only be used in said facility. The facility also has to sign an agreement with Crytek. I really doubt that: A: My tutor will be able to get the college to EVEN AGREE, B: It'd be illegal for me to use it outside of college, which is fucking stupid. And C: My college is most likely not a higher-educational facility and so I'm not getting anything. Oh well, I'll just have to wait till they release the indie development sdk for free next year. I am not happy now.
I get gamebryo educational license and unity pro for free, but I still need to pay if I wanna make it commercial.
You ALWAYS need to pay for the SDK if you wanna sell the game.
I think we have a few unreal licenses floating around too.
Uh, I'm not talking about being commercial. I'm talking about even being able to get an educational license. It's fucking stupid offering it for educational purposes freely, but making the conditions so fucking stupid. Not all students are at university...

Agree. I am not in uni, thus I don't get it :(

Oh ok i didn't know you meant add more polys >_<

Load of shit if you ask me...
I'm definitely asking my tutor at uni on Monday
Wish me luck
like, there are some guys like 8 or something and you just see those guys and talk too and they are fun and then you go in about a week to a cafe to chill and you see about 4 of those guys the ones you talked with and they call you to sit with them and you do and you are like instant buddies.
What

What the fuck, this makes no sense
Thought I'd might as well post it here. This is the very first model I've ever made. And I'm quite proud of it.

^^ quite good for a first :D
I havent been in here for a while and i havent done 3D work for over 3 or 4 months now but i thought i would give a flashbang grenade a go so here it is.

You might want to make those hexagons more circular. Even if it will be a very small model, it will be noticable.

Is it supposed to be that blocky? I mean the hinge probably has the default 18 sides but the rest of the grenade has 5?

I think its 6

a) you possibly meant:
If you see 8 people who usually hang around together and you think they are fin to hang out with, then it is possible that you can become instant buddy with them when you can get along with 4 of them at some point.
b) you probably posted in the wrong section regardless.
You think wrong
then I'm wrong :p
The ring on the pin is kind of tiny, no? Also yeah it's super blocky looking.
