Personally, I've never noticed a [I]lack of description[/I] in Lovecraft's work, so much as a [I]lack of exact description.[/I] He hands you the blueprints, but you build the monster yourself.
What [I]you[/I] create in [I]your[/I] mind will surely be more personalized and personally terrifying than anything a completely separate author could put into words.
It almost kinda sorta reminds me of [I]Eraserhead;[/I] the fears are indiscriminate, yet clearly terrifying. Only you can say what each surreal scene means, and in doing so, create your own [I]personally[/I] horrifying version of one standard set of visions.
