Is it me or does it sometimes look like the human characters are acting in front of a green screen?
Yeah, you're right. All the sets look like pre-rendered backdrops.
I'm afraid to ask
They really picked an odd set of people for these characters.
Neil Patrick Harris ... Johan
Katy Perry ... Smurfette
John Oliver ... Vanity Smurf (voice) (The fuck?)
Jeff Foxworthy ... Handy Smurf (voice) (THE FUCK?)
George Lopez ... Grouchy Smurf (voice)
Not another live-action remake of a classical comic or cartoon.
Anything but that.
Here, put me in this tank of piranhas.
JUST ANYTHING BUT THAT.
:argh:
I could honestly like the idea if it had a good script.
But by the look of the trailer...
No.
No.
It sounds like a generic Ben Stiller style film.
Fuck that.
God? Are you there? It's me, Jad. I have to ask you something.
Are you just fucking with us now? Are you THAT bored up there?
Anything but more live action films, GOD PLEASE.

It's kind of hard to make a good movie-length plot from a concept like Yogi Bear. I'm sure it's been done, but it was done in cartoon form. By the creators of said cartoon.

If they _EVER_ think of doing a Top Cat movie... :argh:
First the smurfs NOW THIS. JESUS CHRIST. if i see a top cat cgi i will kill the creator.
Well, all the Hanna-Barbera adaptations to the big screen were mind-blowingly awful (Scooby-Doo and Flintstones, anyone?)... I'm afraid this one will follow the same trend... :smith:

There was an animated Tom & Jerry movie made a while ago. However, it consisted of Tom & Jerry talking (talk about butchering the biggest aspect of the fucking show) and shitty musical numbers.

Dont forget the racing one which was pretty good.

I believe the racing one and others like it were done by the actual creators of the show. The one I'm talking about was an actual big time production and it made a theatrical release.

I died a little on the inside.
The problem with the Tom and Jerry movie was that everything that made the show great was butchered heavily. As I stated before, Tom and Jerry both spoke. Richard Kind was the voice and Tom and Dana Hill did Jerry. And it doesn't happen randomly, they talked to any animal they saw, a lot. They also sang and danced in the many musical numbers in the film.
The worst part about the film was that Tom and Jerry never fought. They made like a friendship pack and all the slapstick was done by other characters and animals. The only time you see them doing any slapstick is right at the end but only for a few seconds.

She isn't that bad but it seems that since Scary Movie she's been type casted as an idiot.
I bet :20bux: there will be a CGI Jetsons movie.

Probably would need to use CGI for the dog. Though they're going to have to find a token black guy. The Jetsons never had a black character.

Just wait. By 2012 they'll have live action Simpsons :smithicide:
Ackroyd looks and sounds terribly uncomfortable in the clip. Something tells me he's being forced to do this at gun-point.

Tom actually did talk occasionally in the Hanna Barbara Tom & Jerry cartoons, and even spent a large part of one episode singing. However, he didn't have the same voice actor in every instance and he never used words to convey his thoughts or feelings to other characters (except for the aforementioned singing episode.) Jerry was completely mute, though.
Rumor has it that a live action version of Thundercats is underway.

The most Tom did in the show was sing with some other cat rarely (as well as say 1 line of dialouge) or yell from getting hurt.
And it all started with Tom and Jerry the Movie .
That was the start of the Hanna Barbara-caust.
This thread made me so sad upon entering, but to see so many fans of my beloved childhood TV shows, it just makes you happy.
