Selling an item on craigslist. Something VERY VERY fishy.

I just went through a similar situation, only on the buyer's end. Just gazing over it quickly, it seems like the same kind of bullshit this guy tried to pull on me. Better safe than sorry, don't do it.
What do you guys think? If i rip up the check and ignore him that I won't have to worry about being found?
Agree = I've got nothing to worry about, Disagree = Go to the cops
Just do it.

You have nothing to worry about, go to the police and report him.

you don't want anthrax bombs in your mail.

I probably would have fallen for the same thing, dont say, get some common sense.
He's just trying to figure things out
You're getting scammed dude.

Take it up with the police, they may be interested.

I'd say it's unanimous. Go to the police, man.
Go to the police, this is rather like eBay escrow provider scams.
Suspicious and sounded pretty stupid. I didn't think all of this shit would happen for a bowling ball.
WHO WAS PHONE!?
You should have just used Ebay or something. Safer if you ask me.
1. take $3950 check
2. cash it
3. dont email him back
4. buy something nice
Revision:
1. Take $3950 check.
2. Cash said check.
3. Dont email him back.
4. Buy a submachinegun.
5. When he shows up at your house with some goons and kicks the front door in, mow those fuckers down like the righteous facepuncher you are.
There is something fishy about this thread. Everytime I refresh THIS site, my browser wants me to put in the admindata of my router.
What the fuck?
Don't fucking do it.
Looks like a bit of money laundering going on. It's probably cheaper for him to buy your bowling ball and give you an extra $100 on top of that than to do it himself.
Damn. You guys are right. FUCK. I fucked up bad. Really fucking bad.
I'm crying, we are gonna be rich. oh fuck oh fuck i need to email the storekeeper and demand a refund.
That's exactly what I'm hoping. That they are way the fuck over in Nigeria and if i just give the check to the police they will forget about it.
I highly doubt they are going to hunt you down because you sorted out their scam.
They will just be like "Oh well! onto the next sucker!"
They're probably pulling this shit with at least 50 other people at the same time.
Still, take this to the police so they can maybe have something done about this scam they're pulling.
I tracked it down... To a field...
Nearest house seems to be a farm, so the person is probably real, but the scam is even more likely fake. (What farmer would be that careless with $4,000, let alone even have $4,00)
Many farmers are quite wealthy...
Call the cops dude, haven't you heard about those dudes that got killed with a mail bomb after finding out that a scam was a scam? (Not joking, it actually happened. I can't be bothered to look it up right now, look it up yourself if you feel the need to do so.)
It's called 419
Nigerian Scammers
etc etc
I took the test I posted based on what you have posted, and you're at high risk of this being a scam.

Better yet, Postal's ass.

Do you guys just have these pictures laying around?...
KOP3
It is a guaranteed scam.
NO online transaction should unfold that way regardless of circumstance. If there were an issue with payment, then a normal legit buyer would hold the deal until he can complete.
Rip it, or report it.

You dumbass my Dad is a farmer and makes nearly $60,000 a year.

But seriously, read the contents of that link. It is amazing and you should do the same thing.
That was actually amazing. I DEAD YOU TWO TIMES ONCE FOR BEFORE ONCE FOR NOW! hahaha
I didn't have to finish reading that, its a Nigerian craigslist scam. I can tell from the " I awaits your reply"
Go to a secret service field office with the check.
I'm still just laughing by how complicated this guy is making everything for a bowling ball.
