i feel like i'm the only person whose favorite daft punk album is unironically "human after all" alive 2007 is great but i feel it gets a bit bloated in places
I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't like Alive 2007. Live albums aren't my thing. I think most people like bits and pieces from Human After All but it was(in my opinion) the worst of the 3.
see, i think i'm the opposite of that. i liked bits and pieces of homework and probably around half of discovery, but almost every single track on human after all appealed to me.
IIRC, Guy and Thomas made the album within 6 weeks. I guess they wanted to make an album as fast as possible.
IIRC, Guy and Thomas made the album within 6 weeks. I guess they wanted to make an album as fast as possible.
Wikipedia says produced in 2 weeks, mixed in 4 and it really shows.
it's raw and it gets to the point
Some deep loving is required to truly appreciate HAA, imo.
I got in to Daft Punk a little later than most (2008 or so) and I really liked HAA, maybe thats just me though
i was familiar with most of daft punk's hits but i was never a big fan until i heard the song "human after all" and then i was in love i just fucking love that album so much and i don't know why. the melodies are so good. [editline]29th July 2012[/editline] i think human after all was kind of necessary. if they tried to top discovery, it would've been a nightmare.

i want to see a new alive album with the orchestral tracks from tron: legacy mixed in. that'd be fucking gold. has a new album been confirmed?
I think Daft Punk could apply themselves to almost any style and I'd appreciate it (not to sound like a sheep or anything like that) they just seem to have a lot of tallent to create things in certain styles. I'm hopeful that the new album will be good (that is if there ever is one) I was kind of hoping that sky dive thing would be official a while ago, a colab between daft punk and mr. oizo would yield some interesting results
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who thinks Homework is only okay. There's a few REALLY great tracks on it, but for the most part, its not their best work. To me anyways.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/4461973/Ellie-Goulding-is-back-with-new-album-Halcyon.html Welp she's back with a new album. "Halcyon" is due to release sometime in October, so The Sun says.
Check out what DJ Falcon just posted on Facebook :tinfoil: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150970034186914&set=a.267619186913.141148.236926581913&type=1&theater
Looks like its from Electroma but I don't recall seeing that.
Probably is. Guy-Man isn't that tall
Turns out the same image was submitted to the Daft Punk last.fm page back in 2010, so this isn't a shot from a new video or anything though. Still could possibly mean something, i'm slightly hopeful

They work in mysterious ways
maybe it's a sign that the new DP album is already out, but only in the year 2010 oh shit
And whoever can create the time machine gets to go to their secret release party in an unannounced location in 2010
That sounds like the plot to an awesome indie film
Guys. I finally scanned the cover of my Homework cassette. And it has their "faces" on it.
That sounds like the plot to an awesome indie film
Let's make this movie happen (and get Daft Punk on board)!
http://www.inthemix.com.au/news/intl/53441/Rodgers_on_the_Daft_Punk_album_Its_going_to_be_so_cutting_edge
We know, we know – it’s been a long six months since Nile Rodgers first told us that he’d been working with Daft Punk on a new album. While there’s been a fairly steady drip-feed of clues about the album since, the Frenchmen themselves have been keeping Mum on the matter and despite suggestions that we’d be getting the release “maybe June”, August’s rolled ‘round without anything official materialising. But while we’re still (somewhat impatiently) waiting for the much-hyped album to arrive, Nile Rodgers has reassured that the follow up to 2005’s Human After All is worth the wait. Speaking to Mixmag at Camp Bestival (watch part of the interview below), Rodgers gushed that “it’s going to be so cutting edge that people aren’t going to expect what they’re doing.” “All I can say is those guys are geniuses,” the Chic frontman began. “To think that after all these years we’ve been trying to get together, they just show up at my apartment in New York City and the vibe between us is so powerful and so strong – it’s unbelievable.” “Spiritually and artistically, working with them was as good as anything I’ve ever done,” Rodgers continued. “It’s as great as being in the studio with Bowie, it’s as great as being with Bernard Edwards and it’s as great as the best stuff I’ve ever done with Duran or Madonna.” Fingers crossed, eh?
Daft Punk's new album is now a 100/10 for me. This is too good to be true
Nile Rodgers? Daft Punk? oh man. Can't wait for marketing to start. Also thanks for reminding me of Chic, my mom used to listen to them all the time while I was in the car with her.
