It's almost as if you can see his descent into madness, with earlier videos having him be more calm and less scared, and later ones being complete horror fests.

it's weird but I kinda find old game's graphics like the first Clock Tower and Splatterhouse more eerie, there's just something about it that adds a creepy vibe to it

The original Quake is the most disturbing game in the FPS genre. I completely agree, the bad graphics add to the creepy vibe.

As he explained in a video, the reason its creepy is due to the Uncanny Valley effect, where an object will look very similar to its real-life counterpart, but will be [i]just[/i] a little bit off; it's a a mechanism in the brain that causes a sense of fear. Corpses, etc. induce the uncanny valley effect.

I played this game on my psp a while back, wasn't scary at all. Maybe it was the screen size? I dunno, but it was not at all shocking.

I played it and got bored with it. In 2 hours I had done every thing and it was the same shit go here go there oh look it's that thing again wow.
I think the reason is is scary is because
a. Old graphics mean that shapes aren't too defined which leaves some mystery in your brain as to how to "fill the blanks" of it's actual image.
b. Everything in this game is unexpected. 90% of the time you won't know what happens until it happens, leaving players on their toes, and shitting themselves when something happens.
Just as a future reference to anyone who may not know:
