Voice does not change. You need to change your voice manually through training and practice. [editline]18th February 2011[/editline] Obviously, if they needed to change their minds, there is no reason why they would be doing this in the first place.
Yeah, you're right, a guys voice wont change, I was thinking of when girls take testosterone and their voices change (which is pretty strange if you know someone who did this).
Has science gone too far?
I recently found out my friends brother used to be his sister, he has the hairiest sister I have ever met. transition video he put on youtube last year. this is INSANE
What the hell possesses somebody to do this to themselves
Uhm, they were born differently? Does it matter? You're disgusting. [editline]18th February 2011[/editline]
nice anime avatar btw, goes well with your inarticulate arguments about why the crossdresser is not a man
God these are the types of people on the anti-transgender side, what a fucking joke. [editline]18th February 2011[/editline]
I'm okay with a lot of things, I'll accept 99% of peoples beliefs and actions (assuming they don't harm anyone) But there's just something about this that doesn't sit with me. It's just not meant to happen. Call me ignorant or whatever, but I just don't think your sex is meant to change. EDIT: The one thing that confuses me is the people who are massively flaming people with opinions like me call us close minded. Isn't it closeminded to berate someone for their beliefs?
It was never their choice to be a girl or boy in the first place, so i think they should be allowed to change it if they feel they should.
Nope, still a he.
Nope, still a he.
:sigh:
I think it's facinating, how gender is a simple case of hormones. It's like finding out that feeding a dog fish will turn it into a cat. Maybe a cat that still barks, but still.
I can't imagine going through such a process, but that doesn't make it any less fascinating.
My god so many people in this thread are narrow-minded twits. How is there so much hatred over someone who is unhappy with being born into the wrong gender and wanting to be the opposite gender? [editline]18th February 2011[/editline]
Nope, still a he.
Nope, she.

But it's still a male. Sucks for him, but he still has a penis and he still doesn't have female reproductive organs. He still has a male body, male voice, male chromosomes. Calling him a female is just trying to be supportive.

Gender does not mean that just because you have a penis and a sack you are a male, or that having ovaries, a vagina, womb, boobs, etc makes you a female. Gender is what characteristics distinguish between male and female. If SHE behaves more towards the female characteristics then SHE, is in fact, a female.
Isn't being supportive a good thing? It's not like this choice is hurting anyone else.
Indeed it's a good thing. I pity anybody who doesn't at the very least make an attempt to understand his point of view. My reply is mostly geared towards the people on the other side of the fence who are flipping shit calling everybody closed-minded.
What's the song name?

It's still a male. Gender is defined by chromosomes in the scientific community. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XY_sex-determination_system

I thought that the Man -> Woman treatment was quick, but SHIT.

Gender is the characteristics that distinguishes between male and female.
Look, we're being realists.
implying emotion isn't real
This is wrong.
That's sex, not gender. Sex is the biological view. Gender is the characteristics that distinguishes between male and female.
Am I really having this argument? He has a penis, he has XY chromosomes, he's a man. End.
implying emotion isn't real
Emotion doesn't define sex.
Emotion doesn't define sex.
who's talking about sex?
Am I really having this argument? He has a penis, he has XY chromosomes, he's a man. End. Emotion doesn't define sex.
Your right, emotion doesnt define SEX. But it does define gender, if it didn't, Gender Identity Disorder wouldn't be a medically recognized disorder. Also I can link to wiki articles too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_Identity_Disorder Now read up, and stop being stupid.

I'm perfectly happy being factually incorrect if it means she can feel more at home in her new body.
Am I really having this argument? He has a penis, he has XY chromosomes, he's a man. End.
Because apparently you claim the power to end an argument just like that? Having trouble presenting a counter-argument there, buddy?
Oh god what the fuck she looks half decent. [editline]18th February 2011[/editline] agaowegjkaeiowgjaiowegjioewjg my brain.
pretty cool, in a scientific sense. not my cup of tea, but she had a (huge) goal and achieved it. respect.
Holy FUCK. After a year, he doesn't even look like he was a woman. I thought that the Man -> Woman treatment was quick, but SHIT.
She is more manly looking than her brother.

You're trying to argue against that and then you go and call me stupid. :downs: [editline]19th February 2011[/editline]
Because apparently you claim the power to end an argument just like that? You want to support him, sure, but it's still a male with an influx of female hormones. Having trouble understanding common sense there, buddy?
Facepunch confirmed for trap lovers. Also: [sp]It's a guy. It has a penis. Therefore it's a guy.[/sp]

It's really the characteristics that identify someone's true self. She's a female, deal with it. But whatever, have fun being a "realist."
