I hope the protestors end up winning this (it appears they almost already have, though)

It pretty much depends on what the army decides to do.
Can you give us the locations of the NPD headquarters, the Al Jazeera building, and State Television building as we can't find them on google maps
State Television (big building with the tower)

I'll try to find the other two. If you use Google Earth lot of these places have pictures and labels marked- the musuem for example.
Fox News just reported an unscheduled Egyptian plane landing in Athens.
Could it be our Presidente?

But it ended up like Tunisia though, looting is starting to happen.
I wonder what the white house statement will be.
Though I am guessing it's going to be the same as the US ambassador and Hillary Clinton.

Looters always- ALWAYS appear when a reigon is in a state of confusion. It's just like flies to crap- it's inevitable.

Thank you.
That tidal wave of people looks really awesome.
I'ts official, the protesters managed to storm the TV station, Army is almost non existent.
I really hope the protesters can achieve their cause without too much bloodshed...

Slap the bitch with a spiked gauntlet
This may be a dumb question, but how would the protesters go about getting the country's internet back online?
When the government loses power, the ISPs will simply bring everything straight back online. They are losing money from this blackout, and will undoubtedly restore service as soon as they possibly can without being destroyed by the secret police.

There are still internet lines open for Egypt's stock exchange and other corporate concerns. Some Egyptians have managed to exploit that to send out short messages.

Athens? Hmm, I am from Greece and I have no idea what our gov's stance would be to this. :saddowns:
One of the main airports in Saudi is surrounded by authorities, they expect Mubarak to flee and land there, i guess Ben Ali is enough for them.

Oh my god, that just sent shivers down my spine. The police retreating and all, everyone just pushing forward. It's almost like some alternate ending to 1984 or something.
So, which buildings are currently protected by protesters or police/army?
So, which buildings are currently protected by protesters or police/army?
TV building seems to've been occupied by the military, as have been certain hotels, railroad junctions, airport, etc. Some museums have been blocked too- the main archeology museum in Egypt where a lot of the famous artifacts have been stored has been surrounded by citizens keeping looters out, trying to avoid a repeat of what happened in Baghdad's main museum in 2003.
The Suez Canal is also being held down. I wouldn't be surprised if the national assembly and the courts are being held down too.

The museum is being protected by protesters. Some government buildings are being protected by the army I think.
So, which buildings are currently protected by protesters or police/army?
There is almost no police now, it's the army, and according to the news, it's just some of the military and they are protecting the national museum, embassies and banks

At least it's good to know that important buildings such as the museum is good.
I'm gonna go through this thread again so I can get a better understanding of what's currently going on.
Government Officials have now fled Cairo.
I WANT TO RIDE A TANK :saddowns:
TV building seems to've been occupied by the military.
Dude, the TV building is now under the control of the protesters.
Shoot, so the military isn't going against Mubarak?
Shoot, so the military isn't going against Mubarak?
They never did, after all they stopped the protesters from making an outright march towards Mubarak's house.
Aljazeera : Businessmen and officials are leaving egypt right now on private jets ...
Shoot, so the military isn't going against Mubarak?
The army doesn't seem to be taking any sides.
Good luck

Wich is strange for an army.
