I wish I was there, but if I was actually there I wouldn't want to be there.

:psyduck:
Anyway, good luck OP
Civil war imminent.
Also from the sounds, the government is using its police as its own personal army, what the fuck is the military doing?
Civil war is typically the population fighting each other, this is the population vs. government.

Let's hope for revolution, then.
I sympathise with OP. However, genuine Egyptian protestors looking for a better life and government should be careful not to be mindlessly aggressive - e.g. beating the shit out of riot police who aren't doing anything wrong. You have to be the better man in this scenario.

they've been under martial law for 29 years. anyone still supporting this regime should get what they deserve

If you look at the first seconds of the video, you'll see a Central Sec. (official name for riot police) officer carried by the crowd, he decided to join them and they embraced him.
But that's an officer, not a foot soldier, maybe if more officers decide to do the same, soldiers will finally follow in their stead. I sure hope so.
This video also confirms that the guy shooting the water cannon in the video I posted earlier was the one with the red shirt, and this proves that Egypt has more than one red shirt. :hist101:
I'll be right back, reconfiguring my Tor installation to strengthen it a bit.

You wish you could spectate?
Gl OP. You personally should stay away from violence and destruction though.
I hope you guys get your rights.
Voodoo get every bit of media you can get from the whole situation out the world in any way possible, news sites, twitter, facebook etc. Good luck with taking the gov down and i hope you recover from your baton hit.
Remember the real enemies are not the riot police, if you can get them on your side (like you said in your post) that's the best outcome. The real enemies are the higher ups, the bureaucrats. Don't let them weasel their way out of the situation when they get overrun.
Yeah, that's the idea. The real problem however is the percentage of them that are real psychopaths, and those are often selected for leadership positions; I'm not saying that all of their leaders are bad, but a big percentage are.
About the tripping thing: Our asphalt is like butter from the heat midway through the day, and their armoured boots are what's causing this. Some people already adopted my idea of throwing bags of cleaning supplies (liquid soap and the such) underneath their formations and the wheels of their heavy vehicles to help spice things up. :eng101:
We've also started throwing bags of black paint at their windshields, let's see how they'll drive and aim those water cannons now.

At 0:02, did that guy just get ran over?

Well I don't know how it works over there, but you need someone who's on the protesters side or at the least isn't affiliated in any way with the current leaders, and get the full support of the protest effort behind them. Use facebook/twitter as much as you can, contact the people with the most well known facebook/twitter accounts for this protest, and organise. Getting the word out to people on how things should go down will do a hell of a lot more than hitting a policeman over the head. Once again, good luck and stay safe.
Posted it on facebook for you.
At 0:02, did that guy just get ran over?
No, he was unharmed; people stormed and captured that vehicle shortly afterwards.

Thanks.
Best of luck OP, to you and all of your countrymen fighting for freedom and justice.
OP is a real man. Protesting for what is right, and standing up against a corrupt government. You're a cool guy in my book.
I'm trying to figure out what to send to fox news.
People must know of your plight.

Wait did he just rip that guy off his water cannon? That looked incredibly badass and painful at the same time.
exactly how hard did you clonked there bro
Shout propaganda out of a megaphone maybe it'll get the riot police to turn on each other.
I really appreciate this guys.
Meanwhile, crowds are storming the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Cairo, they broke the blockades and there are unconfirmed reports (from twitter) that they're inside the building as I post this, I'll try to keep you updated.
Hackers from Alexandria brought down the official presidential website.

Oh man, I'm at the edge of my seat. This is intense.
I'm rooting for you guys!
until the gov officials are out, you can't say they've been taken down. the red shirt protesters in thailand got inside the parliament many times, but nothing happened, and the protests ultimately failed.
remember: social media is your best friend, i cant stress this enough. if the government so much as shoots one bullet at a protester, have the video up on facebook so the whole world can see it.

It's not too bad, just a minor vision problem and my ankle got hit by a rock thrown by riot police, my boots (steel-capped, I 'borrowed' them from my dad before going out) protected me somewhat so that's recovered already and I got some damaged tissue on my feet from running a lot in such heavy boots; that is all.
I'll hopefully be going out by tomorrow at most, fucking antibiotics got the best of me today.
be careful, a baton hit to the head can give you brain damage or kill you. seriously, don't go head on throwing rocks and shit at the cops, getting the word out to the world is the more effective.
it wasn't a very funny joke in the first place
It was a terrible joke.
Carrot Top opens with better material.
We now need a crying Egyptian patriot emote, because this is seriously inspiring, man.

Good luck, and definitely be careful.

[editline]27th January 2011[/editline]
And best of luck to you.

And protect your joints if at all possible.
Oh and try to steal one of the Riot officers shields, or make one.
