We need CSI software! Zoom In! Enhance!
Hail the BBC, it's been their top story for days over here, and not because of British tourists (though that has been mentioned obviously)
The BBCs coverage has been surprisingly thorough with their reporting.
I am sure they will receive complaints when its all over saying they spent too much time and money focusing on it, but they are running a news channel what do people expect.
anything big happen today while I was gone?
I am actually spreading the news at school... hardly anybody has heard of it... its disgusting the lack of concern.

Yeah the BBC are very thorough when it comes to this sort of thing, just telling it as it is

Victory!
Victory!
Victory is when the army says they are heading to wherever Mubarak is and arrest him/force him into exile. This just means they won't harm people, which doesn't mean they might eventually just replace Mubarak with someone they like more, or that they are just there for peacekeeping.

How is it being reported where you are?
In the UK its been the main headline on all news programs since it started (and all the news channels are doing round the clock reporting, while stuff is happening anyway) and its been somewhere on the front page of nearly every news paper since it started.
what the army said means a lot.
maybe the most important part is that they supported people's " freedom of expression"
and they didn't ask people to comply with the curfew , which means they are not listening to Mubarak's order about the curfew
Egypt must not also maintain its extreme previous support for Israel if there is a government change. Hopefully the new one will take a harsher stance which will pressure and encourage Israel to stop defying human rights.
For the last goddamn time every country defies human rights. The US has some instances where there are cases of police brutality or capitol punishment that condemn your ever so sacred human rights.
Also, can you stop keeping standards? What you think defines human rights might be conpletely incorrect in countries that aren't America.
Try replying to this post instead of rating it dumb, that is, if you have any facts to stand behind your inclination to bring Israel's injustices into every thread.

Gage Salicki.
"BBC Arabic reporter in Alexandria says he saw Muslims protecting Churches as part of the newly formed up public protection legans (groups). He says there is an amazing unity amongst all Egyptians both Muslims & Christians against the regime."
I'm amazed at the unity that this is bringing. With the initial statements by protesters that it doesn't matter what faith you are, to the various opposition groups uniting and agreeing on a single leader, this is very much the best possible outcome in a case where you have many tensioned groups.
People stopping the hate and violence towards different groups of people only to focus it on their government. :v:
Good on all of them though, im glad they can work through the tension
What did I miss today while at school?

That's how humanity works; There will always be hate, the easiest way to reduce it's effects on your population is to give all humans something to collectively hate.

yeah its really great ... just to add that last Friday during the prayers of Muslims , Christians were the ones protecting them
What weapons are the military issued? I remember seeing policemen with AK-74s when I was in Egypt in march, but are the military issued the same rifles?
[editline]31st January 2011[/editline]
Holy shit, what?
What happened in Qatar?
Supposedly a few thousand people were protesting in doha to try and get support for the protesters or something. Luckily Qatar has very good civil rights so they werent trying to overthrow the government or anything, just trying to drum up support.

In the west, the majority of Christians would do this exact same thing. But I guess its a totally different story in the middle east from what I've heard. :/ shame really. If only they could continue to join together to fight a common cause.
This warms my heart.
OP, I hope that you recover quick and best of luck to you.
you should do this

I figured you guys would like this.
cell phones will be cut again ...
If the Army isn't going to use force, can't the protesters just walk past them and win
What would they do? walk in and get beat down by the police?
