Get spud cannon. Launch supersonic potatoes at officers. In addition, it'll splat on their shields(assuming they block it), rendering them unable to see through.
We now need a crying Egyptian patriot emote, because this is seriously inspiring, man.
just whipped this up (its a pyramid crying)
[img_thumb]http://www.gifsoup.com/view4/1816279/wheee-o.gif[/img_thumb]
Looks like he tried (and failed horribly) to do a GRAW-slide.

Best of luck to you OP and I hope you're safe, it's really amazing to see people come together to get something accomplished.
For a second i thought i had read bacon, and had come here to share my appreciation, however this was unfortunately not the case. Regardless, fight on man, best of luck!
Facepunch has its very own resident revolutionary. Best of luck to you, you wonderful brave fellow!
Good luck, you amazing human. Best of luck, and if I can help in any way, at least financially, send me a private message.
Thanks.
Good luck, you amazing human. Best of luck, and if I can help in any way, at least financially, send me a private message.
Your kind words are enough, I come from a mid-class family that is financially stable thankfully; but thank you for your offer. If you really want to help, try spreading this; contact a news agency and ask them why aren't they covering this. If this had happened at Iran western media would've been all over it before it even started. Note to everyone: I'll try to explain how this started: What's happening now started on a humanitarian Facebook group supporting the rights of those mauled and/or captured by police for no reason, especially Khalid Mohammed Saeed, it started as a call for peaceful protest in Egypt in response to many self-immolation incidents involving depressed and oppressed people imitating what Bouazizi did at Tunisia, this was planned to happen on January 25, the national police day; The Police and Centeral Sec. forces were deployed all over the country but had their orders not to engage the protesters in any way, which was fine by us, up and until Habeeb El-Adly (Minister of Interior) gave them the order to wrap things up and disband (using force if necessary) the crowds all over the country, this is when shit hit the fan. National newspapers are completely oblivious to what's going on, Al-Ahram's front page today was about the events at Lebanon, yesterday's title was "Crowds handing chocolate and roses to police officers in celebration of the national police day", fucking hypocrites. Things really ignited when they tried to disband a 50,000 man crowd gathering at Al-Tahrir square in Cairo, and riots were set off all over the country for similar reasons. Hottest regions right now are: Suez, Cairo, Al-Mahala Suez is a war zone at the moment, many were brutally murdered as far as I know, there's no electricity and no power and no phones/internet, the city is under siege and is not giving up; people are reportedly flocking to the city from Al-Ismailya (another city nearby) to support their brethren there. A couple of channels were banned from Nilesat for reporting the events live, so everything is silent. I'll try to post again with any news as soon as I'm able

Good luck again, I'm going to try calling our local news affiliates tomorrow morning and see where it goes from there. WWII shark nosecone included.
The CNN article makes it seem as if the protests are all but done. It also makes Mubarak into a loyal ally of the U.S., underscoring our support for him. Way to go, journalism.
This is the first thread I have read through completely since my first 2 months on FacePunch. I am proud of you OP I wish I could help. The U.S. needs something like this.....soon. remember napalm is easy to make just gasoline and Styrofoam. I salute you and your fellow revolutionists. :golfclap:

Trust me, I know more than enough chemistry to produce things much worse than Styrofoam napalm and pressure-sensitive explosives, but I don't like the idea of setting someone on sticky fire; after all they've done: abused, brainwashed kids don't deserve this from me or anyone else, because they're good men on the inside, they're told that we're mobs trying to destroy our country and that's why it's hard to convince them otherwise. I believe in the classic 'beat the crap out of them, then give them a hand to help them up', THEN you tell them we're not enemies, and that their superiors are the real problem.
You have my spiritual support OP.
This gets my heart beating....I am a revolutionists myself (at heart) and it makes me happy to see people standing up for their rights and not just being sheep let to the slaughter house.
Finally they're picking it up: http://www.nytimes.com/pages/todayspaper/index.html [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] Suez is opening up, got a tweet that phones are now working, we'll see what news comes up. If you want to monitor this in real-time, you'll get the occasional tweet in English with the hash-tag #Jan25 on twitter. I hope Animal Farm is readily available in Egypt, I can't help but fear that something like that will happen, maybe even influenced by Al-Qaida. :X
I hope Animal Farm is readily available in Egypt, I can't help but fear that something like that will happen, maybe even influenced by Al-Qaida. :X
We read our books too, you know. If you think that Islamists/Al-Quaida are gaining new grounds around here, you're completely wrong; That's Mubarak's way of legitimising his presence to the international arena. This is an interesting development. Goodluck to you, and try not to get hurt again, ya hear.
Howlthrug: Thanks, but I make no promises. :P And an update: Stock market just shut down. http://www.egyptse.com/
I'm behind you Op, thrusting my way to justice!
At least put a bloody pot over your head. Better to look silly than get hit in the head with a rock
At least put a bloody pot over your head. Better to look silly than get hit in the head with a rock
I have my brother's kung-fu championship gear, body armour and leggings, and an industrial hazard helmet, I could wear them and not care about looking like a clown, but I'd be arrested on sight for looking suspicious; the only thing I can wear without raising suspicion is my steel-enforced boots. Sometimes blending-in is more important than protection, all of that won't protect me if I try to resist and get swarmed by 20 soldiers in riot gear from all directions.
...Wow. I had heard vague reports about this in the news but no one's giving it enough coverage. Good luck, I hope you overthrow those bastards.
